Shall We Tell the President?
A Short Summary of "Shall We Tell the President" by James Archer. The novel starts with the inauguration ceremony of Florentyna Kane, the forty third presidents of America and also the first women. She defeated Ralph Brooks in the election. Her husband was Richard Winchester and she had two children William and Annabel. In her first speech she talks about the ‘Gun control bill’ and declared the war against the disease, discrimination and poverty.

March 3 Thursday Evening: Nick Stames, the head of the WFO (Washington Field Office) gets a phone from Metropolitan Police and informed that one guy (Angelo Casefikis) want to meet head of FBI, now he is in Woodrow Wilson Medical centre. Nick Stames consult this with Grant Nanna, head of the criminal section and decided to sent Barry Calvert and Mark Andrews to the hospital. Barry Calvert is one of the most ambitious young men in criminal section. He loves the job in every angle. He is also the archetypal FBI man. Mark Andrews joined FBI for some adventure, he was one of the youngest agent and also smart and handsome. In the hospital they met Dr.Elizabeth Dexter, the daughter of Senator Dexter. Angelo Casefikis revealed why he called FBI. He was worked in a hotel. In February 24 he heard shocking news. Some people were planning to kill the president and he understood that a senator is also involved in this. When they knew that he heard everything, they tried to kill him. But fortunately he escaped.After the meeting Mark Andrews talked Dr. Dexter and fixed a date with her. Barry called Nick and informed every thing. Nick Stames entrusted Mark to the hospital. On the way to the home Barry and Nick met in an accident and died.

March 3 Thursday Evening: Mark called Dr. Dexter and postponed the meeting. When he arrived in the hospital Angelo and Benjamin Reynolds who lied near Angelo had died. Mark tried to inform the news to Nick but he didn’t get. So he informed all incidents to the FBI director H.A.L Tyson and

    In this essay I am going to be assessing the character Curleys Wife from Steinbeck’s book Of Mice And Men. The book is set in the 1930s during the Great Depression it features two farm workers called George and Lennie. The travel around together in search of work sharing a dream of a place of their own, a small ranch where they can live and work for themselves. It tells the story of how violence may erupt to destroy those dreams. Curleys wife is a character in the book who from the brief encounters with her is presented in two ways. Firstly the dangerous, flirtatious character who isn’t trusted by the rest of the ranch workers but then later one we realize how she is just a victim of loneliness with her being the only girl on the ranch and how she too has an incomplete American Dream to pursue an acting career.     Flannery O’Connor’s dismissal of the outside world allows you to understand more of the symbolic quality of all of the active characters. Even the names she chooses for each character help her to establish their significance in the story. O’Connor uses symbolism, good versus evil and the psychological and physiological problems of the characters to create irony in “Good Country People”. O’Connor also uses Biblical parallels for inspiration to depict events in the story.
