Shabbat Ritual

The Shabbat is a reflection of the fact that the Jews keep the Sabbath day holy and a day of rest, in which people are called upon to follow the lead of the Lord by resting on the seventh day. Some rituals that are performed on this day include refraining from work or co-curricular activities, lighting two candles at the beginning of Shabbat, the Kiddush, lighting of the Havdalah candle, which essentially make up the two core beliefs of the Shabbat, which are to “Remember the Sabbath day” and “Keep the Sabbath day”.
