Sexism In Sports

Sexism has always been an issue in our culture and society. The way people are stereotyped or thought less of because of their gender is an example of this. Whether this sexism is shown in politics, institutions, federal environments, or even our own careers, the use of it is everywhere, even in our extra-curricular activities. Some people may feel like they cannot enjoy anything because of sexist content being almost everywhere. Many video games may implicate sexism, and many people dislike this. They want to enjoy a game without being bombarded with sexist content. Because of these games, many people consider gaming industry sexist. But the video game industry is not sexist, because it offers games for all genders. There are all sorts of games that people may enjoy
Sports games are also a variety themselves; they range from baseball to football to soccer. Anyone who plays sports enjoys these types of games because of the competitiveness and the enjoyment of playing it with friends. In an article by S.A. Perkins from the student review, he states, “I like playing the game of FIFA. Not exactly on my own- playing a career is alright, for a time, but it gets boring very fast- but with my friends it is extremely fun.” Playing this type of game with friends is very enjoyable, which is way many people play these games. Later in his article, Perkins speaks about how he enjoys sports games because he feels a sense of accomplishment and pride in doing well at sports games, while it is the opposite for him in real-life. Many people may play sports games because they are not amazing at them in real-life but they still enjoy this sports. Whether the reasons for these games, the industry sees the potential in them. Sports games do target a certain group of people, but even though this is so, the industry does not focus its attention solely on these
