In the book, the author uses a style of submerging the reader into the time frame of the French revolution, describing the gruesome guillotine which was used to execute countless innocent lives. The Scarlet Pimpernel, while being the name of the book, is also the name of the unknown savior of those innocent people sent for death by the guillotine. While he saves people, the French ruthlessly hunt him down and try to discover his true identity.…

In the novel, “Little Scarlet”, the author Walter Mosley is discussing the ordeal the riots have created in Watts. The novel exposed crimes that were going on as a result of the riots. Throughout the novel, Walter Mosley introduces various characters to paint a picture of society in 1965. Mosley uses a murder as a twisted plot for justice. The murder case forces Rawlins to address the ethnic tribulations of the 1965 watts riots.…

Walter Mitty (the protagonist of “the secret life of Walter Mitty”) is basically a normal guy, except for one huge problem. His mind can easily wander. His mind is most prone to wandering when he thinks of his wife. His wife regularly belittles him and does not treat him like a “man”. It is for this reason that whenever Walter Mitty’s mind wanders he goes into a world where he is the hero and the star. He goes into a world where he can be whoever he wants to be and be the best possible at being that person. Much like Walter Mitty, Charlotte (the protagonist of “the yellow wallpaper”), has a husband who persistently tells her what to do and what is best for her. Just like Walter Mitty’s wife, her husband expects her to do what she is told and if she doesn’t then she is just a “silly girl”.…

He keeps his gaze locked on a black fish, which kept swimming in and out of a decoration of a sunken ship. “Walter! Walter Mitty, this light bulb isn’t going to change itself.”……

In The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, the readers distinguish fiction plays a big part in the lives of human beings. Any little thing such as, driving past a hospital triggers Walter Mitty’s mind into dreaming he’s the best doctor in town. Having a wild imagination creates not only positive implications, but also negative. For example, imagination can be used to create new inventions, but can also be used by a serial killer to murder the next victim.
