Scream Season 3: Making A Popular Horror Franchise
It seems Scream season 3 is pushing through. The formula in making a successful horror franchise is quite sensitive. Especially if the production is adapting a popular horror franchise. And it looks like MTV is struggling to make this nightmare live long enough.

Which is why Scream season 3 is indeed coming back. But there is one big catch to this come-back. The series is only coming back for six episodes. Why the short run? It looks like the franchise does not have enough story to go on.

With the Scream Halloween Special set to air next week, there is no telling what is going to set off season 3. But news indicates that MTV is not happy with the slasher series and its numbers, cites Cinema Blend. If that is the case, then why is MTV stretching it for another season and hyping a Halloween show?

Previously, speculations about the different Scream season 3 story arcs detail the jump off point from the Halloween Special. At the moment, that is all MTV is giving everybody. Season 3 is getting the green light. But there is no telling who are the final cast of characters and the release date, too. Maybe the final list of cast members will be based on the Halloween Special. That is, if someone does get slashed by Brandon James.

Season 2’s hints of James coming back to get his revenge means a much more angrier season. And if James is not it, then that means this Halloween Special is featuring a new psychotic murderer in town.

Is there another Ghostface? Follow the remaining Lakewood gang to a mysterious island - and get hunted in the Scream Halloween Special.

So, is it really Brandon James? With the teaser from a hotel clerk saying “Welcome to Lakewood, Mr. James,” Scream season 3 just gets more

From here horror moved on to the witchcraft and the undead, films such as Peeing Tom (1960) and The Night of Dead (1990). New films brought with them new conventions. Zombie films trapped the audience, where claustrophobic attack scenes where a key feature. Zombies travelled closer towards the audience and crowded camera leaving the audience terrified. Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman are great in their roles as the main victims of the three masked assailants. Another great thing about the actors in this film is that they are not major, award-winning Hollywood actors that everybody has heard of. This is an advantage because if this movie starred Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, then many people wouldn’t have taken it so seriously. Liv Tyler is probably the most known actor of the group, mainly because of her father, who is a celebrity himself. The three strangers are played by Kip Weeks, Gemma Ward, and Laura Margolis. These actors are definitely not known by much of the public, and have acted in few movies and shows. They played the three masked invaders to perfection. Their parts were not played too dramatically and overly violent. Instead they portrayed the masked assailants in a creepy, sneaky, sly, and ghost like manner. This intensifies the overall eeriness of the situation, because you do not know when they will pop up next. Out of all three, Gemma Ward, who played the blonde girl in the doll face mask, definitely stood out. Her character was the only of the three invaders to have dialogue, which she only uses a few times in this film. Her character can be easily seen as a scary person to the viewers. She uses a monotone voice for her character, showing that her character has no emotion and that she will not feel any remorse in anything that she does. Examples include…

Horror and thriller are a long standing favorite media type of our kind. A good scare that lingers in our minds sticks with us in ways other genres do not. The interest can span through movies and novels which both deliver results in different ways. Horrors and thrillers also affect our bodies while watching, though also differently. The reasons of why we like to be scared continue to be studied, but a few theories have emerged that are all partially accepted. Horrors and thrillers stimulate both our bodies and minds because they remain a mystery as to why we like them, they have helped us evolve, and they demand our attention.…
