Scientific Adam
Today science technologies are beyond incredible and can enhance our level of understanding about the past, present and future Earth. It allows us to see beyond our history and where and how we first came to be, tracking the little but significant details which allows science to trace our own ancestral journey out of Africa. The National Geographic’s Genographic Project aims to map historical human migration patterns by collecting and analysing DNA samples from hundreds of thousands of people from around the world.
Six billion people around the world from every imaginable background with incredible diversity yet despite these differences are more connected to each other than you might think. In 2005 the National Geographic and IMB teamed up to draw people together and make people realise that we are all part of an extended family and that our DNA connects all of us by the one man, he is scientific Adam. In the bible it tells us that scientific Adam was the first man ever to set foot on the surface of the earth, but this is only based on faith and religion and comes with no hard proof. However, the project will prove this theory along with finding the roots of modern human with a strong based scientific evidence and well research using advanced technologies.
If scientific Adam is truly our first father than we must inherit a piece of DNA that remains unchanged called the Y chromosome. However this is only found in men and is what makes the gender of a man. 1 out of 23 chromosomes is passed on from generations practically the same order leaving a mark that your ancestor left you from thousands of years ago. This can only be passed on directly from father to son giving the Geneographic Project a head start where all the answers come from our own DNAs.
