School Captain Speech Final
Firstly I’d like to say a very big Good-luck to my fellow nominees up here- You’re probably going to need it… For those of you who don’t know me, I am Brittany Jordan... And those that do, well I guess you’re the lucky ones. Today I stand before you because I am running for school captain 2k15.
I would like to introduce myself by telling you all a little bit about me. I recently returned from Canada where I lived with strangers for three months and ate nothing but maple syrup, I am approachable, responsible, caring and open to new ideas, I’m in love with travelling and, believe it or not, although I am ginger, yes, I do in fact have a soul.
To me, the job of a school captain is not just about a badge or having the power to present assemblies or be the beautiful face of a beautiful school, but instead, it’s an opportunity to display your pride in your school especially of your teachers and fellow students. This job demands time, effort, enthusiasm and most of all the ability to lead. I believe I possess all these qualities and if not I am more than willing to learn them in the process. I promise to dedicate myself to serving the school and especially you, my fellow students. So please vote for me and show your trust in me and I promise I won't let you down. Thank you and remember vote #1 Brittany.

Some of us are excited, others sad, and some scared. Maybe not at this moment, but at some point we have all thought about the time we have spent at BFCCPS and how our years at this unique school have changed us. Whether you arrived as a nervous kindergartener or a confident middle schooler, the opportunities we have been given, and the lessons we have learned have shaped each and every one of us into the people we are today, and more importantly, the people we will become in our futures.…

The Greats of this time have always been that: great. To be remembered, you have to do something. The world simply works that way. I came here to tell a story, and I now realize that they have already been told. See, to be able to tell a story, there must first be a story worth telling. For most people, such a story could not possibly hope to exist. We live, we die, we move on to Heaven beyond this life. There is no place for mediocrity in this world of wolverines and vipers. When you live to be remembered, you must die for that memory to live on. No story begins before death, and most stories do not last past death. Think back to a time you heard the name Captain Jason Duncan. He was a captain of the militia in Vermont during the American…

A successful teacher takes the time to understand his/her students and their perspectives. The situations I have handled such as altercations with teammates and miscommunications have helped make me into a stronger leader. Having this advantage of learning and being mature about situations in high school is going to help me in the long run when I have to handle the same things when I get to college. Becoming a leader and role model for this group of girls was a new, interesting experience. Leading a team is what I have aspired to do so I can learn the skills I need in order to be a role model and impact lives in an influential way. Being elected captain my senior year has a special significance and is a great honor. It is recognition of my hard work, competitive spirit, and most importantly acknowledgement by my teammates of their belief in my ability to lead…

Hello, everyone! I’d like to thank everybody again for coming out today to help send us off into our futures. The sad truth is, is that this is probably the last time I’ll get to talk to my entire class at once so I’m gonna try and make it good. We’ve come a long way from nap time and chasing each other around the playground well…maybe something’s never change. Our class has had some awkward moments, from learning about the “bull head” in Mrs. Currnutt’s class, to Morrison hitting on Mrs. Harber. But, we’ve also had some fun times too. We had a pretty amazing fishing trip at the end of our junior year, and also we made a great Senior Harlem Shake! In the past four years I have become friends with people I never expected to be friends with, or even the past two years, for that matter. And I think our whole class can relate to that.…

I believe I have the skills and the ability to make a different to the Academy to make it a better place for us kids to enjoy learning and be able to transform our learning, transform our lives and to transform our community. I think I am polite most of the time, prepared for my learning and productive in lessons. These are some of the good qualities I have in being a good leader. I am also a good speaker and listener, I am very open to share ideas and listen to any ideas from my fellow classmates. Though I am not perfect and there are times where I talk in class, I do try to be the best student I can, and help any students in need of help.
