Scholarship Essay

My desire to excel in academics dates back to middle school when I received my very first letter grade, an A. Since that very special and wonderful moment, I have and will continue to work as hard as I have to in order to be successful in my academic career. I have many educational goals, for education is one of my top priorities. I plan on receiving a double major in Finance and Marketing with a minor in Mathematics, while maintaining a high grade point average. Currently, I maintain a 4.0 GPA, and I take enormous pride in that. Also, after completion of my current studies, I plan on entering graduate school to acquire my MBA. Hopefully, this will allow me to obtain a management position within a highly respected business, which has always been an ambition of mine. My personal philosophy in life is that none of my hopes, dreams or wishes will happen until I make them happen. The greatest mistake anybody can make in life is to continually fear that they will make one. This is why I try to live life to the fullest, take nothing for granted and to always go after what I want because nothing is ever just handed to you. I am applying for a General Scholarship because with college being so expensive, it would allow me to reduce the number of hours that I work, which would then allow me more time to concentrate on my studies. I believe that I am excellent candidate as you can see from my academic achievement and all the activities I am involved in. If I were to receive a General Scholarship, it would be a constant encouragement and reminder that I am capable of greatness and receiving a General Scholarship, will put me one step closer to achieving my dreams.
