The purple emperor butterfly is mostly found in the woodlands across Europe, and the warmer parts of the United Kingdom. The purple butterfly eats off of the honeydew, and on animal feces, also they drink urine. Some distinctive features are the bright purple, and the long curled tongue of the butterfly. The purple emperor is threatened. And the skin type is hair.

The male butterflies have the most colors on them. The females live most of their lives in the nest giving birth. The purple emperor does not feed from flowers they …show more content…
The polar bear mostly eats seals, walruses, and seabirds. The distinctive features about the polar bears is that it has clear fur and black skin. The polar bears are considered to be endangered, mostly because global warming. The skin type of the polar bear is fur.

Some interesting facts about the polar bear is that they can live up to 30 years. The polar bear is a carnivore. The average amount of cubs a polar bear produces per litter is 2. Really the only predator to the polar bear is humans. For instance when we drive cars the exhaust go to the north pole and heats it up a little and melts the ice trapping and killing the bears.     Polar bears are extreamly well adapted tohunt their prey under water. Keeping warm is no problem for polar bears infact sometimes polar bears have to lay flat on their stomachs on the ice just to cool of. Polar bears have the thickest fur of any bear species. Their fur has two layers. The first layer, the under coat, is the closest to their body it consists of thick, plush, hair that retains heat. Vanessa is a genus of brush-footed butterflies of the family Nymphalidae (Stefanescu et al., 2007) They are described as Holarctic species, which refers to habitats throughout the northern continents of the world (Stefanescu, 2001). They are seen mostly in open meadows and fields near streams (Stefanescu, 2001). Their populations are not permanent because to survive they need to be in relatively sunlit places that provide the appropriate host plants for protection and reproduction (Vandenbosch, 2003). They also need the proper plants that provide nectar for their consumption (Vandenbosch, 2003). At all life stages, Vanessa butterflies are incapable of surviving in cold temperatures (Vandenbosch, 2003). Due to this fact, Vanessa butterflies migrate (Stefansecu, 2001). The butterflies migrate in the winter towards the more southern regions and then upon their arrival, begin an intensive breeding period (Stefanescu, 2001). Throughout the winter, the larvae develop (Stefanescu, 2001). In the early spring, the new generation of adult butterflies appear (Stefanescu, 2001). These new adult butterflies migrate back to the northern regions in search of more host plants or better available resources (Stefanescu et al., 2007). In the southern regions, the summers are too dry and hot and the Vanessa butterflies would not survive these harsh conditions (Stefanescu et al., 2007). The migration process continues when winter approaches since the butterflies would lack proper survival resources and must travel back to the southern regions (Stafanescu et al., 2007). The Vanessa butterflies are forced to migrate continuously because in order to survive, they require proper amounts of food, shelter, and reproductive grounds.…
