People often betray one another in order to achieve their own desires. In the play “Macbeth” by William Shakespeare, Macbeth, the main character, is led by blind ambition and betrays the king and his friend, Banquo. In the play, Macbeth tries to gain the crown through the act of treason and shows how the tragic hero suffers death in the end due to his deeds. The play shows how absolute power can corrupt a person and make a man succumb to his insatiable greed and desires. The play revolves around a renown and a once loyal noble named Macbeth. His loyalty begins to diminish and becomes distorted ambition to gain the crown after being promised power by the witches prophecies. This results in the murder of King Duncan, who praised
