You may have watched the popular show Ninja Warrior only to wonder how these people get so fit and how on earth did they get those muscles. If you do watch the show you probably already know that many of these athletes are rock climbers, and there is a reason for this.

If you are not an outdoor enthusiast and don't find the idea of hanging off large mountains and rocks appealing you can still enjoy rock climbing and its benefits, using an indoor or outdoor rock wall can be a great way to get the workout without the danger element.

A Study provided by Harvard Health Publications shows that an 155 pound rock climber can burn up to 818 calories per hour of climbing.
