Rhetorical Analysis Of 'Guest' By Margery Guest
The beginning of this essay kind of made me chuckle because my parents are much the same way with maple syrup. Throughout my childhood, they would always push me to eat the "natural" kind. Just like the author of this essay Margery Guest, I much preferred the heavily processed and high fructose corn syrup infused name brands. Unfortunately for me, I was rarely able to convince my mom to buy any. Not until a few years ago did I realize the benefit and quality of "real" syrup, and reading this essay only reinforced that realization. Guest's audience for her essay is the average american. As a whole, our society loves to eat the highly processed, chemical-filled foods that are cheap to buy and excessively sweet to the taste. Guest acknowledges
