Rhetorical Analysis There have been many times on the go where one just grabs a bottle of water to drink. But according to Bottlemania, this is wrong and humans should be drinking out of the tap. Mark Coleman’s rhetorical analysis of Bottlemania finds that he believes it is credible. Whether it is or not, persuading humans to drink out of a tap can be a very challenging task. Throughout the rhetorical analysis, Coleman writes about how it is much easier to picture kids guzzling beer rather than a deer nuzzling around mossy springs (831). This states that somehow there is a definite corruption of the society today as to where things unnatural are becoming more common, and the natural is becoming uncommon. Either way, both of these are wrong because young kids should not be guzzling beer, and it should not be rare to see the nature of life all around us. Next, Coleman writes about how celebrities sell these water bottles and it is a waste of time. If looked closely on the bottled water label, one would see that it is from a municipal source. In other words, this is tap water, but just purified. Does this seem to make it that much cleaner? Many celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston have placed themselves in these bottled water advertisements. Using celebrities makes people want to be just like them, so they should do the same things that they do. Such as buy bottled water from time to time. But is this right? Along with that, bottled water has seemed to affect this planet more than any other type of plastic on this earth. Plastic is not biodegradable overnight which causes a large amount of unneeded pollution to this planet. The bottles of water pile up and pile up, and seemingly never end. Thousands of dollars have been used to buy bottled water, and thousands of dollars have been used to try to dispose of it. Couldn’t that money be used somewhere more useful?
