The Giver is a book by Lois Lowery that was published in 1993. I recently read the book and enjoyed it very much. I thought was a very unique and interesting book. One thing I really enjoyed from this novel was the setting. I thought I was very unique of the author to have the story take place in an utopian society. A utopian society is a community where there sameness. Every decision is made for you and there is no colour. Another reason I really liked the book was because it showed different perspectives. I liked how only one person( Jonas) could see in colour. Since it was showing his perspectives of the situations, it made the story very interesting and easy to visualize. I also thought that the story line was very creative
