Research Paper On The Greasers
On April 7, 1965, Windrixville, Jay Mountain, three Greasers saved the life of four little kids from a burning church. One of the greasers, named Dallas Winston, also known as Dally, “has spent three years on the wild side of New York and has been arrested at the age of ten.” (Hinton 10) “If you can picture a little dark puppy that has been kicked too many times and is lost in a crowd of strangers, you’ll have Johnny Cade,” (Hinton 11) the second hero. The last hero, fourteen-year old Ponyboy Curtis, was “the weed-fiend” in his family.
One day, driving back after a meal, the boys immediately noticed that their hiding place, an old abandoned church, was on fire. “There was a crowd at the front of the church, mostly little kids.” (Hinton 90)

Although this is true to an extent, they are simply trying to protect their family of other traumatized kids. Their capability to look past the social class system of Socs and Greasers allows them and the people around them to have a better quality of life, making them heroes.…
