Police subculture are the beliefs, values , attitudes and behaviors that are shared amongst officers; a set of standard behaviors that is considered appropriate for law enforcement personnel. Police culture is slightly different; being that it focuses specifically on the behaviors of officers. Subcultures differentiate police officers from society, this can have a positive or negative affect. Subculture can cause officers to form a cohesive group that is essentially alienated from the public.
