What is the Magna Carta? Well it's the most important documents that established the principle that everyone is subject to the law, even the kings are subject to the law. The Magna Carta guarantees the rights of individuals, the right to justice and the right to a fair trial. This year actually marks that 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, and today four surviving copies of the 1215 document have been brought together for the very first time in London. This year for the Magna Carta is very special because 800 years ago the Magna Carta was signed on June 1215 at Runnymede.
