The third game fish is the trout. The trout tends to be found in moving water. You can find them in creeks and rivers. A very popular way to catch them is using a fly rod. The fly rod is used by pulling line out of the spool and feathering a tiny bit out as you swing the rod back and forth until you have it at the distance you want it. If you are more of a nature centered type of person, I suggest trout fishing.…

Fish have lots of protein and are very healthy. Most people think just because they don't have a fishing pole and hooks they cannot get fish. Nothing could be farther from the truth, a lot of deferent fish hooks, spears and traps can be made of wood and carved with a knife. If you are fishing with a hook and line there are a few important things you will need. You will need a hook, line, and bait. If you don't have these things they can be easily made. To make a fish hook all you need is a knife and some wood or bone. A very simple and effective hook to make is a gorge hook. All you need to do is take a stick, break it to the length needed then sharpen it into a point at both ends. If you don't have a line you can make one out of tough plant fibers. Basswood, elm, cedar, nettle, yucca are very good plans to use. The fiber will be easier to work with if it is soaked in water for a few minutes. To make the fibers into strong line, tie two ends together, then start twisting the fibers clockwise, twist each one individually and not together, until tight. Then wrap them together in a counter clockwise and tie them at the end. The opposite twisting and wrapping help keep the line from unwinding. To get bait use bugs or worms. When you fish cut open the belly to see what they are eating. If you don't want to stay with your line for hours there are things to do so you don't have to sit there with it. You can make a Twitch-up…

Lakes can be broken down into two main categories, the first being man-made, and the second being natural lakes. Man-made lakes are usually created by a regular or hydroelectric dams. The backup of the water creates very deep pools that are going to make fishing with anything other than a pole much more difficult. Some lakes can be a few hundred feet deep, and nets do not reach down far enough to catch the fish and using a spear or hand are both certainly not even an option due to the location of the fish. Poles are able to hold hundreds of feet of line to reach very deep areas such as lakes. Natural lakes, which are naturally formed, are much different from man-made lakes. Each natural lake is unique and has different features and sizes (Oster 16). Since natural lakes are naturally formed, some of them are not very deep, and the bottom of the lakes can have large amounts of debris upon which a net or a diver fishing with a spear could get hung. Although a hook could also get caught in the debris from the lakes, it is much easier to replace a hook and some line than to replace a huge, costly net and obviously it is impossible to replace someone's life due to the danger of diving with thick debris. Poles are the best when fishing in all kinds of lakes, big or…

In order to go fishing certain equipment is needed; this equipment consists of a fishing pole, a size twelve hook, and three different types of bait. There are three types of bait mainly used for trout, these are worms, minnow-fish, and the artificial bait called PowerBate by Berkley. Three different types of bait are needed because fish sometimes deny certain baits and the other baits could get them to bite. This makes the chances of catching a fish better than if only one type of bait was used. Before actually throwing the line of the fishing pole in the water there will have to be a hook on it. The hook can be applied by putting the fishing line through the hole of the hook and knotting it about six times, and cut off the excess line with scissors. Then the hook will need bait on it, if the choice of bait is PowerBait by Berkley then you will need to roll it in a ball about a quarter of an inch big and stick the hook into it so it is on tightly. If you are using a worm, you would have to put the hook threw the worm once and let the rest of the worm dangle off of the hook. If your choice of bait is a minnow-fish then you will have to put the hook through the gills on one side and then out…
