Renting a Movie vs. Going to a Movie Theater
“How much is the popcorn and drink again?” Have you been the movies lately? The tickets and the concession stand will break your wallet if you have the money for it. The money you spend at the theaters, you could use that money to rent multiple movies at the movie store and you will still have money left over to save for a rainy day. The expenses you will pay at the theaters can result in a bad experience for watching a movie that you may enjoy. There are many differences and similarities between renting a movie and going to see a movie. Being at the movie theaters can be a waste of your time, depending on what time you go. The best time to go to the theaters would be the mornings. Not many people can wake up at 9 a.m. just to go see a movie. Waking up early still will not make your movie experience as you would like it to be. You still have to think about different scenarios prior on going to see a movie. These are a few that would cross your mind: is the movie theater going to be busy, would I be able to get my tickets, or would I have a decent seat in the theater. There are many other scenarios that can occur while making a long trip to the movie theater.
Renting a movie at local movie store would be the best way to watch a movie. Renting movies is less expensive than actually going to see one. You can rent up to three movies for the same price as going to see one. There are many different advantages when renting movies. The fact that you don’t have to buy the expensive tickets in a long line will cut back the time wasted. Another advantage is the popcorn situation. Since you are renting a movie, you can either make your own popcorn or you can simply have dinner while watching the movie at your own time. The best time to go rent a movie would be either Tuesday or Wednesday during the week. You should not go during the weekend because most of the movies would be checked out.
When you are at the movies, there will be a point in time when you will have to go

Staggering movie times would mean less wait in the concession, people don’t like to wait and if you have 4 movies showing at the same time with 60 people at each showing, and if 25% of the people want concession foods, that could be 80 people waiting in line for a movie that starts in 10 min. It is less hassle for the movie theaters to stagger times for their concessions rather than all at the same time. A Mulitscreen theater showing helps the mall revenue. The malls always have a food court which while you are waiting or go window shopping could lead into people buying goods from the mall when they only wanted to go to the…

There are many norms for attending a movie theater. These include explicit norms, norms that have been openly written or spoken (Straker, 1) and implicit norms, norms that are understood but not precisely recorded (Kornblum, 59). Explicit or formal norms have clear rules for punishment. Creating a disruption during the movie is grounds for ejection from the theater. Most theaters openly state during the previews that cell phones need to be turned off and that talking should be kept to a minimum. Implicit or informal norms regulate seat selection…

I have been enjoying going to the movies for over 20 and have never stopped loving the experience. I even remember the name of my first movie “The Land Before Time.” It was about a baby dinosaur that had lost his mother and had to make a great journey to the Great Valley to find his grandparents. In the end he does find them, after a great adventure with friends. I have always love movies that have a happy ending and also a little adventure. Another story that I read that had a happy ending was an essay called “Going to the Movies” by Susan Allen Toth 1980. In this essay she writes about what type of experiences she has with four different friends when she goes to the movies with them. Also, another essay I have read recently is called “A Century of Cinema” 1995…

What will it take to get customers into movie theaters? It is uncertain over how many people want their movies delivered; mostly in today’s economy people would rather have convenience over quality.
