Medication safety is a major a part of nursing care and is stressed immensely during clinical experiences as well as nursing classes. The six rights of medication is addressed every time a medication pass is initiated and includes the following: right patient, right route, right time, right drug, right dose, and documentation. Without using these six rights of medication administration there is an increase in the probability of a medication error leading to poor patient outcomes. During clinical I am able to practice my six rights regularly by giving three students their oral medications during the school day.
