Reflective Essay: Improving My Writing Skill

Last year, I was still a sophomore. I did not expect to graduate early. I know nothing about college. I could not tell the differences between a essay and a passage, know how to start a essay, or having any writing skill. I was a careless student. Deadline and Due Day were not a big problem for me. My sophomore year was also my first school year in the United State. The only English class that I have ever taken was English 10, and it mostly focused on improving my reading skill. One day, I was called up by my counselor, Mr. Mitchell. He said I still need half credit of English to complete the graduation requirement, which means I had to take two English classes in one semester. I was planning to take English 12 and English 11 at the same time, because I thought English 12 would be the easiest choice. Unfortunately, They did not have any English 12 class at fourth hour. After considering for a moment, I decided to take this class, College Writing.
College writing is created to teach the students the critical thinking and writing skills needed to communicate in college courses and in the workplaces. After going to college, people might start applying for jobs. A resume and cover letter are necessary to have before applying to any place. These two writings are used to summarize about yourself. Who you are, where you come from, and What you have done. The more impressive your resume and cover letter are, the more chance you can get a job. Vocabulary, format, and punctuation have to be completely neat. I was not have a good format for my resume. The time was felt down to the next line.
