After he arrived, he dropped down onto the cold, grey castle wall, crept past the guards, and found the crimson red stone displayed in the center of a magnificent room, all while Chompy the Dragon circled silently overhead. Next, Red Fur the Thief quickly removed the stone and placed it in his worn bag. He then carefully and quietly made his way out of the palace, but Red Fur the Thief was spotted as he was mounting Chompy the Dragon. The messenger had heard tales of horrible thing the Felinae had done, so nervously handed the letter to the knight. It’s harder to love them when they’re not.” This quote from an anonymous source expresses how much harder it is to love someone whose not loveable compared to someone who is. The grandmother is to blame for bringing the cat and having them head out to a plantation, that didn’t exist there. The conflict starts as soon as the Misfit and the men with him approach the family. We are unaware at first that one of the men is the Misfit, so we think the three men are going to help them. Shortly, after realizing they have guns, we further reevaluate what their purpose is, and how come they may have stopped. The next crisis occurs, after the grandmother recognizes that one of the men is the Misfit. She then exclaims it at once, “You’re The Misfit!” He replies, “Yes’m,” “but it would have been better for all of you, lady, if you hadn’t of reckernized me.” After this moment the grandmother and the Misfit keep the tension and conflict going as she then tries to convince him he is a good man. The climax hits its point when the grandmother says “why you’re one of my babies. You’re one of my own children!” She then reaches out and touches him on the shoulder. The Misfit “sprang back as if a snake had bitten him and shot her three times through the chest.” The story shows symbolism in how the sky is “cloudless” indicating the grandmother has then died. The Misfit and the grandmother symbol contrast in each other. The tone used towards the end of the story is a more serious-realistic…

All they could see was an orange light emanating from the marble cave far away. It was only instinct now - to run to fire. It did not take long for the group of them -around 30- to get to the white stone cave, with no gift in hand. Running was easy for them now, they had had much practice. It seemed, though, that they had forgotten the rules of hospitality. A homeowner must allow a guest into their home, but the guest must bring a gift. The men arrived at the open entrance of the dragon’s home. “Let us enter,” one of the men said, facing the rest. “We do not have a gift, but we have nothing. Perhaps he who lives here will offer us sanctuary.” The men agreed, and entered the cave. Onward they kept, for hours. The long cave’s walls began to grow narrower as they walked, until they spotted the shimmering scales. Some of them knew who the scales were from, but none said anything. They approached the dragon, curled in his sleep, his thunderous breaths disrupting nervous air. The crew crept around, keeping silent for fear of their lives. Suddenly, one of the soldiers whimpered audibly. The men rushed to cover his mouth, but it was too late. The dragon grabbed the man from his comrade’s grip, crushing his bones with sharp white…
