Real Life Traffic Light Lab Report
INTENSITY OF SUNLIGHT
The Intensity of the sunlight is measured at different timings by using Lux Meter which measures the intensity of illumination. The Intensity of light is measured in Lux which is the S.I unit of measurement of intensity of illumination of a source. The results are tabulated in the Table 4 and plotted as shown in the Figure 7.

The Real life Traffic light like prototype is developed by designing a PCB with four parallel combinations of twelve LEDs in series. The designing of the PCB is done using PCB wizard3 software as shown in the Figure 8 and the PCB layout is fabricated.

The experiment was done around 11.20 AM and the voltage generated by the single LED is around 0.08-0.3V.It is found from the Table 5 that the maximum voltage of 2.320V is recorded which is lower compared to when the PCB is exposed directly to the Sun.
Figure 9 Designed PCB of LED Array The reason is that exposure to light will be less as the PCB is vertical with respect to the ground.
Table 5 Voltage recorded with the designed PCB consisting of LED array
Experimental Condition Voltage Generated (Volts)
Direct exposure to the Sunlight(With the LEDs facing upwards) 4.120

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many devices and are increasingly used for general lighting. Appearing as practical electronic components in 1962, early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but modern versions are available across the visible, ultraviolet, and infrared wavelengths, with very high brightness. When a light-emitting diode is switched on, electrons are able to recombine with holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy band gap of the semiconductor. An LED is often small in area (less than 1 mm2), and integrated optical components may be used to shape its radiation pattern. LEDs have many advantages over incandescent light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved physical robustness, smaller size, and faster switching. However, LEDs powerful enough for room lighting are relatively expensive, and require more precise current and heat management than compact fluorescent lamp sources of comparable output.Light-emitting diodes are used in applications as diverse as aviation lighting automotive lighting, advertising, general lighting, and traffic signals. LEDs have allowed new text, video displays, and sensors to be developed, while their high switching rates are also useful in advanced communications technology. Infrared LEDs are also used in the remote control units of many commercial products including televisions, DVD players and other domestic appliances. LEDs are also used in seven-segment display.…

Each element emits a unique color light. The purpose of this experiment was to observe these unique colors and calculate their energy. In order to observe this, we placed the physical elements in a 24 well plate, dipped wet q-tips into the wells to gather the element, and put it over the bunsen burner to observe the flame emitted. While observing the different flames, we saw that different elements did indeed emit unique flame colors. Colors such as red, violet, and turquoise were emitted. All of these represented the different energy emitted when the electron changes energy levels. We concluded that potassium had the highest energy emitted. Some sources of error include the q-tip affecting the flame emitted. Also, when calculating the unknown…

These LED lights have even been said to present out vivid and crisp shades not like other varieties of synthetic lights. These strings of lights have measured as much as incandescent lights, but now they've beaten individuals bulbs since LED lights use one-tenth much less power. Let's examine…

To asses the daylighting performance of each fenestration model, the ratios of the Ei to the outdoor illuminance at the shaded area (Eo) are recorded on the 4 selected day of the monitoring of a building equipped with UC, CE, ADS and ASS+ (Fig. 17). It can be observed in Fig. 18 that the ASS+ can reach high daylighting performance as well as the ADS, although both have different profiles. In the ASS+, the highest Ei/Eo is achieved at 10:30. At noon, however, the Ei/Eo of the building equipped with ASS+ decreases (below 2%), although…
