Real Case Study: RAS Increase The Number Of Buss
The results presented in Table 4 show that RAS reduced the total distance traveled and the number of buses needed. In the Real Case it was traveled 48,507.80 km using 55 buses while RAS planned 41,217.44 km using 39 buses in the best solution. This reduction was possible by increasing the bus occupancy rate, from 68.98% in the Real Case to 97.28% in the best solution of RAS.

The solution found by RAS leads to a monthly gain of US$ 250,935.55 and an annual gain of US$ 3,011,226.55 (by multiplying the monthly gain for 12 months). This monthly gain is due to a reduction of 27.95% of the company’s total transportation cost. Therefore, it can be said that the proposed RAS is capable to achieve interesting financial gains for the company.

This monthly gain is due to a reduction of 27.95% of the company’s total transportation cost. Thus, it can be said that the proposed RAS is capable to achieve interesting financial gains for the company.

If the studied company uses the proposed RAS metaheuristic, they could considerably reduce its transportation costs. Also, the planning of the buses routes might become an automated

process avoiding the empirical process currently used. As it was showed by the results, this empirical and manual process may lead to suboptimal solutions with higher costs for the company. Therefore, the proposed RAS showed to be an important improvement in the planning and management of routes. The proposed RAS can also be applied to similar problems like the planning of routes for the transportation of students by school buses, the planning of routes for transportation at events, the planning of routes for tourist transportation, among others.

It is suggested as future works the adjustment of the mathematical model and the RAS metaheuristic to include uncertainty issues about number of passengers and travel time between two

After these analyses based on the data provided, the project held by Road King Trucks should accept. There are some reasons to hold this opinion. First, we look at the NPV, which is Net Present Value, is positive of about $784,246,998.21. Internal Rate of Return is 13.27%, which is far more than the cost of capital. This figure shows that the project turns to be very profitable. Some questions should still be paid attention to, like the difference between the forecasted average inflation rate and real world inflation rate, which engine has a lower returning rate, and the change and establishing of related policies. Think that he who laughs last laughs best.…

Since reviewing and discussing the proposal, several things have come to light and we are requesting some changes to the DCF analysis to include some potential solutions. First, it is agreed that the price for depreciation to the transport division’s equipment should not be included in the proposal. The transport division is responsible for overseeing movement of all raw, intermediate, and finished materials throughout the company and if the depreciation cost is included in the analysis it would artificially inflate profit for that division. The Transport Division and Intermediate Chemicals Group also have its own vice presidents whose pay incentives are based on the performance of the division. In this case, if the cost of depreciation for the transport cars were included in the analysis it would inflate profitability and coincidentally raise their pay incentive.…

Expansion of Mail-order Catalog Business to Asia is a retail division project, it is considering expanding its mail-order to the Asian market. It had an IRR of 19.77%, a discount rate of 8.46%, and a payback period is more than 10 years and the profitability index of this project is 2.85. I choose this project is because the Asian market is a very big market, since the project is low risk and the cost of this project is very low, we think it is worth to try, because if this project is succeed, the company will earn more profit. The financial statements of AMT for the years 1983, 1984 an 1985 shows that the company has been experiencing net losses for the past three years, primarily brought about by heavy spending on research and development. However, despite the losses, it seems that the company’s net profit margin has been improving in a continuing velocity. From 1983 to 1984, the net profit margin of the company improved considerably from -9.77% to -5.44%. This continued the following year with a net profit margin of -4.82. From this, we can infer that should the company continue its aggressive and competitive market stance, its net income would continue to improve. However, given the percentage of increase, the company will still continue to see negative income in the coming years.…
