Reading Class Analysis
Hi, I’m a Junior High student in a small town. In reading class we had to read books. Then my class soon learned that we would be writing blogs. So I am going to do my best to introduce you to me. To start with, I love basketball. I play basketball as much as possible, even though I am not very good. I also love riding horses. I have ridden horses since before I could walk. I have a deep connection with horses and I am the biggest mammal lover you will find. I love to be outside all year round. I don’t particularly like winter. Living where I do the winters are very unpredictable and can get dangerous fast. I can’t stand having to be inside if the weather is gorgeous for that season. My favorite school subject is science. I like it the most out of all of my subjects because it is fact based and there is no guess work or exceptions to the laws, they are always definite provable answers. I hate math. I know that it is beneficial to my future, I don’t like it. I have been in school for a long time and actually don’t hate it a lot anymore. I found that with good friends you can make it through anything, even school. I am not a nerd, …show more content…
I love reading. I feel like it is a get-away for me and I can transport myself away from any problems that I may face in real life. I hate writing, I am not good at it and I can never find the right words to say. I wish I didn’t have to write, but it is an important skill that I will need in the future. Being almost a high schooler, I should learn that I need to learn to accept it a little bit more. I love reading all genres. I like the genres of realistic and historical fiction. My go-to genre is science fiction. I would prefer to read historical fiction from the time period of the Holocaust and world wars. I would like to read thirty more books by the end of the school year. In writing I would like to write longer papers and improve my style of

Reading is my life. It’s my escape from the world around me. I love getting lost in a story about monsters and myths, or a Cinderella gone wrong. If I didn’t draw as much as I did, I’d probably be the anti-social bookworm in the back, like in all those cliche teenage love stories. It’s actually quite surprising to see how many people dislike books, there’s nothing wrong with a little reading every once and awhile. But who am I to judge? I wasn’t a very big reader myself until maybe two years ago. Of course, that leads to the first reason why I enjoy reading so much.…

This is the story of when my interest in reading and writing arose. I believe it started around 10th grade in high school. I experienced so many new things. For instance, I was involved in the band. Which I consider helped my creativity. I found a book that truly interested me and actually had me hooked from beginning till end. Some things from this time didn’t always seem to pan out, but that’s something pretty common and we’ll discuss this at a later time in this. There were people who along this time who inspired my writing and introduced new books to me to enjoy thoroughly. At this time, I believe I’ll start by talking about the people who got me on track.…

I used to love reading. In kinder and first, my nose was stuck in a Magic Tree House book. Third, fourth, and fifth grade I basically lived at Hogwarts (in my rightfully sorted house, of course, I am a proud Hufflepuff). And in middle school, I discovered THE tween series of my generation, Maximum Ride. Reading was exciting, and even though I had done it for years every time I picked up a book it felt so novel. I was your ordinary bookworm until seventh grade when the joint power of Ms. Green’s teaching and James Patterson’s writing broke my will to read.…

Hello, I'm Vanessa Medina, a 15-year-old ninth grader at Hamilton High School in Milwaukee. I was born on October 2, 2000. I live with my mother Amy, and sisters Adriana, Alex and Gabby. I have 2 pets, one is a Maltese dog named Buttons and a kitty my family and I rescued named Greenie. I started at a head start school called Guadalupe Head Start-Loyola at the age of 3, then went on to Fairview Charter School, and now I'm at Hamilton. I was doing great at head start because it was mostly playtime and I was outgoing, I was doing pretty good in Fairview too, but as I aged and in the 5th grade I became very introverted. I started having bad grades because I was too nervous to raise my hand for help, or to talk to people that I had known for a…

I love reading, as it allows me to escape from any troubles or stress I have in “real life.” If I am upset or stressed, all I need to do is find a book or start writing. I sometimes like to write stories, however, around the middle of the story I become bored with writing and usually shorten it about 5 chapters. I do not really read many adventure books. I like realistic fiction that I can relate to and funny stories. I also enjoy reading manga. The thing I love most about writing poetry is that there are no limits. You are not chained to the laws of grammar and standard conventions. I aspire to become a better writer and reader, although I do not want to choose that as my profession. I do plan to still write and read as a hobby,…

My Math teacher made a difference on my reading life. He always had good books to lend me. My appreciation for reading increased with many books he suggested. I’m very glad he was in my life to help to develop my reading skills. Although, I had to learn a new language when I moved to United Sates. I still enjoy reading. My favorite books are the fiction books. I still enjoyed the feeling of traveling to different worlds and be part of adventures. The genre of my story is mystery, a little scary, and adventurous. It’s not to long of a story but it is just long enough that you can read it in one to two days. I’m the same way with my books as I am with my movies. I like my movies a little scary but to scary to where I have nightmares, more mystery then adventurous but to where I have to actually pay attention because if I don’t I’ll get lost really bad!…

My experiences with literacy had a great deal of variation throughout my middle and high school years. When it comes to reading I have found that I greatly enjoying reading for entertainment but when I am forced to read something for scholastic value I often struggle to find the drive to actually read it and will take me twice as long actually comprehend what I have just read. When it comes to writing, I’ve always felt like it is one of the areas in which I find the least enjoyable and have the biggest difficulty in. Although I do not consider myself I terrible writer I always struggle finding the right words. When it comes to remembering my time in middle and high school, writing just seemed like another part of my life.…

I feel my desire and interest in writing grew dim once I reached middle school and had to write about stories and novels I did not find interesting, causing me not to actively read these books in the first place. That feeling of being distant from the material covered in my middle school classes carried over into high school and it did not help that I had the same strict English teacher for all four years of high school. Mrs.…

Another long reading assignment to tackle this week, but I'm excited this time. GUI programming is what I'm mostly interested in. When I first started programming, I couldn't wait until I could write a program that appears on the screen and allows the user to interact with it. This has always been my idea of what programming is all about: graphical user interface programming. Although I know programming is much wider than that, GUI is what captivates me the most. As a matter of fact, I look forward to learning about creating smartphone apps and games and web development. I tried to do a little of the reading assignment each time. The author started off with an introduction that was more confusing than edifying. I noticed that the author of our textbook hasn't presented Java in the best way possible. I believe that there has to be a much…
