Statement: A company is planning to develop an app for the parent to monitor their underage children's smartphones. But the company is thoroughly aware of the side effects of the application. According to the parents, this type of application will make their life very comfortable because they don't have to be hovering their children. A person with the wrong intention can also use this app for bad purpose and hurt whosoever he/she wants., By collecting the private information like location, phone calls and many more. Therefore, for the security and privacy, this kind of apps must not be developed by the company.

ANS: Kantianism is the ethical theory which explains how one should always focus on his/her duty rather than the end result. According to a Kantian, parents should use this app and protect their kids from going to the wrong way, without thinking of the end result. Because it is the duty of every parent, to provide good care and sacraments. The Kantian parent thinks of his/her child’s present but not the future.
Act Utilitarianism: It is a theory which states that a person’s act is morally right if and only if it produces the best possible results in that specific situation.
