There are verbal irony, situational irony and dramatic irony. An example of verbal irony from Ransom of Red Chief is on page 65 paragraph 6 it says “Me?” says I. “Oh, I got a kind of pain in my shoulder. I thought sitting up would rest it.” This is verbal irony because he is actually scared of Red Chief and that is why he is getting up. An example of verbal irony from Home Alone is when Kevin says he’s not scared when he really is. This is verbal irony because what he said is the opposite of what he feels. An example of situational irony in the Ransom of Red Chief is on page 67 paragraph 9 when they say “I was only playing a joke,” says he sullenly “I didn’t mean to hurt Old Hank. But what did he have to hit me for? I’ll behave Snake-eye if you won’t send me home. And if you let me play an example in Ransom of Red Chief is on page 71 paragraph 12 it says “In about a half an hour, I heard the bushes rustle. Bill wobbled out into the little clearing in front of the cave. Behind him was the kid.
