So I shopped around the local stores and department stores ranging from DSW to Shoe Carnival. I finally settled on Rack Room Shoes. Now the normal price for the shoes which I was looking for ranged between fifty to a hundred dollars depending upon the brand or style. The reason I ultimately settled upon Rack Room Shoes was cost and quantity. If you enter the Burlington Coat Factory store at 11th and Market in Center City Philadelphia the first thing you will encounter is a massive sign reading, “BIG SALE Up to 80% off Department Store Prices”. At this moment, you know two things: one, you are not in a department store (so you shouldn’t expect plush carpets and lush decorations) and two, you are in for some BIG savings. Burlington Coat Factory is all about the savings. Everywhere you look you see ‘up to 65% off this brand’ and ‘up to 50% off that brand’; the deals are entirely unavoidable. The main decorations on the walls of the store are its slogans, which also emphasize a customer’s possible savings.…

Similar to what you did with the Revenue Cycle, I want you to prepare a bridge working paper for the audit of Apollo Shoes as of December 31, 2007, listing the major errors that could occur in the purchasing system and to describe the test of controls procedures for auditing related purchasing controls to determine whether reliable control exists. I don’t think that Apollo has enough purchase transactions that we need to rely on the controls (in other words, we’ll look at them all), but we need to document our finding for our 404 work:…

Maple Leaf Shoes found its niche in being a low-cost provider, but production costs have been steadily rising. Not only is productivity an issue, but the company is faced with high labour costs. Compounding these issues is the fact that the price advantage was a critical aspect of the company’s marketing strategy, but competition from overseas has become a problem with high, quality shoes being made at a cheaper price due to the cessation of international trade barriers.…

Now all I am missing was my own set of cleats. I bothered my mother on numerous occasions to get me some new cleats. We were planning to stop by at Sport Authority to get the shoes, but it was later found out that it was going out of business. The only other major sport store was Dick’s Sporting Good. Finally, yesterday we were able to go to Dick’s. There was a big tent outside in the parking lot where a large sign labeled “Clearance Sale” was hanged. Mother and I went inside of the tent and looked around. I saw a bright neon green pair of cleats and I quickly put them on. It fitted snugly and I was pleased how they look. I could not wait to go home and give a few kicks to the soccer ball. We also went inside the store to get me a new pair of running shoes. Mother found a red pair, and that also fitted accordingly to my feet. Mother was even planning to buy another pair to replace my sneakers. She said what I have right now was too heavy and she found a suitable candidate. There was a large weight difference, but it was a bit too big on me. It was unfortunate, but there were two other Dick’s Sport stores and the option of ordering the right sizes…
