First, we cannot abandon the tried-and-true techniques, but spend less time using them. Making phone calls and face-to-face surveys is still a way to reach the older population that has not completely adapted to technology. The older generation is shrinking in size, which is why they need to have less time spent on trying to reach them. Only using those techniques is where the problems occur. The larger majority that marketing research practitioners and political analysts should be studying is the past few generations who have properly adapted to the technology era. We need to take advantage of social media that is becoming more and more popular. This could reach the younger population that don’t have landlines and those who are difficult to reach. It will be important to expand further into social media than just Facebook and Twitter. We can post surveys that catch the users’ attention through the wide range of social networks. The difference is each social media network will have a different post or information to catch the user’s attention. Someone who goes on Facebook when they are bored will not respond the same way to a post as someone who is looking on Pinterest for recipes. Picture oriented platforms will show more artsy poll surveys than those on Facebook. It will be able to attract their attention and have them fill out a quick survey, which
