Psychological Autobiography Examples
Autobiography Personality psychology has genuinely taught me a lot about myself, more than I thought it would if I am being honest. Learning how people differ within their traits has helped me to not only know where my strengths lie, but how to respond to different types of people once I access which traits they consume. The concept that we covered in class that had the greatest impact on me and really helped me see who I am as a person was the Big Five Personality Traits. After taking the survey that you posted on ecampus, along with the material covered in class, I found that my strongest personality trait was agreeableness; tied for second place came conscientiousness and neuroticism, following close behind in third was extraversion; and a very rare amount of openness to experience was detected. To me, these results seem to be pretty accurate. I aspire to …show more content…
I also thought it was really cool how the ORVIS correlates with the Big Five Traits, and display career ideas that go hand in hand with these. For example, agreeableness correlates with altruism, and states that a good career choice that goes with these traits is a therapist. People high in agreeableness and conscientiousness will also be pretty satisfied with their jobs, because not only do I get to find meaning in doing what I love, but I get to help others while doing so. My employer will also take a liking to the fact that I consume conscientiousness, because I always am on time to things, very trustworthy, responsible, and who doesn’t like an agreeable person? Plus, I can be like Pam, Angela, and Phyllis, on the office, heading the party planning committee, participating in organizational citizenship behavior. However, not to sure where my salary will lie since conscientiousness and agreeableness are two of my main strong suits. People high in conscientiousness normally receive high pay, whereas agreeable people get less; which stinks because those who are kind get the short end of the

I must say that I do agree with the results of the test, but there are some aspects of it that I feel to be untrue. In general, I have to always stay busy and involved with various activities. I like being around people, leading, teaching and stimulating others into positive performances. I also like to act on things as opposed to just talking about it. Other people view me as having an outgoing personality. I also am able to relate to and have friends from all walks of life. On the other hand, I am one who does have to think things through, plan ahead, and am very structured (with things in order). I think that I am more a Sensing personality than a Intuitive one. I am more practical and a more hands on individual. Meaning, I often use and trust my experience before words and symbols. (Humanetrics.com, 1998-2011)…

I am an African American woman, who was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. I am the youngest girl of four siblings and I am also the only biological child my parents had together. My dad had two kids from a previous marriage. My mom, even though she was not married had a child before she met my dad. I would say I felt special growing up knowing this information that I had this special bond with both my parents, but it was quite the opposite. See, in my family secrecy is a valuable form of protection, and I would like to add destructive. I was protected from the truth that my older sister who I lived with was not my dad’s child. I also learned in my late teens that I was the reason my dad got divorced from his wife: a new baby from an affair was not apart of the wedding vows. There is a saying in the black culture, “What goes on in this house stays in this house.” I was never really able to talk to anyone about what I had learned and how it was affecting me. I was instructed in the ways of my ancestors to keep the family secrets.…

Over the course of 7 modules, different personality aspects of mine have been tested and evaluated and have even revealed things about myself that I was not aware of. The surveys and questions that I answered dug deep into decisions and choice I make, how I think and how I feel to reveal certain characteristics about myself, some of which I was aware of and others that I was not. Things such as my expression of sexuality, different levels and aspects of my psychology, my personal reactions to certain social situations, and the way I pursue and value my career were all evaluated by answering questionnaires. In the end a lot was revealed about the way I handle and look at things and even my overall personality.…

The study of personality was pioneered and developed by Carl Gustov Jung with his theory of personality types. The subsequent operationalization of Jung’s theory into the Myers-Briggs Typology Indicator resulted in an invaluable tool not only for personal growth and discovery, but also for giving direction in important life choices such as suitable career options. Personally, I’ve given examples of how general characteristics of the ENFP type correspond to major interests and occupations in my life, and I make some commentary on how the test has helped elucidate my strengths and weaknesses.…

Personality traits influence our ability to deal with stressors. Personality is an individual’s characteristic that influences his or her awareness, thoughts, behaviors and motivations uniquely. Temperament is the individual differences that emerge very early in life, likely to have a heritable basis often involved in behaviors linked with emotional reactivity and intensity. An inhibited temperament is associated with the introversion trait. Introverts prefer to spend time alone and are generally distant, shy with a small number of personal friends. Introverts and individuals with inhibited temperaments focus inwardly. An uninhibited temperament is associated with the extraversion trait. Extraverts are more concerned with experiences gained from outside the self. The results for my Introversion- Extraversion test online was 57% towards extraversion, stating an inclination towards being well-balanced, not too concentrated on inner life, but at the same time not depended on the outside world too much. I concur with the results in the Introversion- Extraversion test; it accurately describes my personality traits as having both aspects of being introverted and extraverted.…

I did not grow up in a single town; I actually grew up in seven different towns, in four different states and two different countries. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio.
