Having stricter gun laws isn't going to make these people suddenly change their tune. If someone had the intent of killing someone, why would they be afraid of something that could be trivial in comparison, such as illegally purchasing a gun? If more people had the means to combat these criminals, this problem would be almost non-existent. Often, when murdering someone, a criminal would most likely want to live afterwards. Whether or not you find this to be a bad thing is a completely different debate. If the government had the ability to have that much more control over us than they had previously, quality of life would surely decline for the average American. While I'm not suggesting that any sort of "rebellion" should occur at any point in the future, I still believe that flipping on our backs to be the government's doormat is quite a terrible idea, since they're also humans with their own ulterior motives, despite what they've stated
