Communication is the centerpiece to solving problems. Political correctness limits communication therefore people become afraid to speak their minds. According to the International Debate Education Association (IDEA), debate is a way “to foster national understanding, cooperation, and a free and lively exchange of ideas.” -EVIDENCE- (IDEA) explains that debate is essential to growth, national and global understanding, and to express helpful new ideas. Debate makes people want to speak. Another example of this can be seen from Ed Younkins a Professor of Accountancy at Wheeling Jesuit University. “Political correctness is a multicultural tool to limit thought in education, science, and culture by intimidation and coercion”, (the practice of persuading someone to do something by using force). -EVIDENCE- Ed Younkins fact explains that Political Correctness limits freedom of speech and thought.
