Pros And Cons Of Area 51
Head of NASA, Charles Bolden states that extra-terrestrial life must exist, but there is none hidden in Area 51. Area 51 is a site in the Nevada desert of America that tests aircraft and weapon technology such as the U-2 spy plane. Countless conspiracy theories have derived from Area 51 due to the secretiveness of the US government. An example of which is the apparent hiding of extra-terrestrial bodies recovered from the supposed UFO crash in Roswell, 1947. Due to a lack of evidence and excessive amount of conspiracies, it is unreasonable to believe that Area 51 is housing extra-terrestrials (The Telegraph, 2015). Society should be against the belief of Area 51 housing aliens because it is based on conspiracy theories and the American government …show more content…
Since, ex-US president, Barack Obama acknowledges its existence, saying that one of the first questions he was asked as president was what is going on at Area 51 (Time.com, 2013). Although limited information has been shared, the US government has acknowledged the use of Area 51. Per government documents that were declassified in 2007, Area 51 was used for a top-secret Cold War-era program known as Oxcart during the 1950s and 1960s. This aimed to develop an undetectable spy plane, used for gathering information without a trace. The A-12 was the result of the hard work, which could travel at over 3000 kilometres per hour (History.com, 2013). From the ground, aircraft like this is, by definition, a UFO (unidentified flying object), as the public was not informed about this special aircraft due to its classified role for the government. Additionally, author of Area 51: An Uncensored History, Annie Jacobsen, stated that Area 51 was the most important facility during the Cold War that pushed science further ahead of the Soviet Union and that it was developing air-surveillance technology to prevent further war (Independent.co.uk, 2011). The previous evidence confirms what Area 51 is used for, and that there was reason to hide the use to stop other governments being informed about the surveillance that the US government was …show more content…
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) only acknowledged Area 51 as a testing ground site in 2013. The unclassified documents still blacked out some information regarding Area 51, which is what continues to drive conspiracy theorists. Although, it is acceptable for the government to hide such information due to the nature of the work, to develop and test a spy plane, to protect their country from potential war. This requires secrecy as the information that the spy plane was receiving was unknown to the countries it what occurring to. If it was known, it would be of no use and not be able to safely gather information. Secret services are done to ensure safety of the country. For example, the MI6, in the UK, works overseas to help make the UK a safer and more prosperous place (SIS.gov.uk, 2017). Area 51 is based off the same principles, although receives unnecessary conspiracy theorist

The thoughts of those looking into the affairs of the NSA think the government took a great idea, and honestly the only idea with today’s technological warfare, and got greedy with how much information they have collected and need to be watched very carefully. The most important information for any human being is the information we choose to keep private, it can be the most devastating information in the wrong hands and the United States Government is holding that exact information in bulk, with your name on a yellow folder.…

Political management of the extraterrestrial (ET) presence on Earth has evolved during the course of the successive US Presidential administrations that had to deal with the policy issues that arose once irrefutable proof of such a presence was brought to the attention of policy makers. This evolution of responses by Presidential administrations can be broken into five historic phases which demonstrate a gradual erosion of Presidential/executive oversight, and the growing autonomy/independence of clandestine organizations embedded in military-intelligence and national security branches of government. This erosion of Presidential/executive oversight in the form of ultimate control of the ET presence being gradually taken away from elected Presidents and/or their congressionally approved political appointments appears to have all the characteristics of a 'political coup'. Presidents, in the case of Republicans, have been reduced to rubber stamps for those controlling political management of ET issues; or, in the case of Democratic Presidents, to political irrelevance.…

The CIAs knew they were in the United States back then. Before 9/11, FBIs and CIAs did not communicate and share information with each other because they have this “wall” in between them. If the CIAs and FBIs could have worked together, 9/11 could have been prevented. Both of them actually looked up evidence and information prior to 14 days of 9/11. Everything that has happened gave the government a heads up of more awful events that will be occurring in the future.…

Although small steps were taken during the years of World War I through World War II, it wasn’t until 1947 that an official Central Intelligence Agency was established. The United States is a very different place because of its existence. First and most importantly, the agency saves American lives by protecting our nation from foreign terrorist threats. Without it, our country would be more vulnerable and an easier target for enemies to attack. It is also true that the CIA has engaged in some actions that have created a negative perception of our American government. President Obama has had the job of attempting to repair America’s reputation as a fair and non-discriminatory country. He summed up the issue perfectly when he remarked during a speech, “Today we are engaged in a deadly global struggle for those who would intimidate, torture, and murder people for exercising the most basic freedoms. If we are to win this struggle and spread those freedoms, we must keep our own moral compass pointed in a true…

I am writing to you in regard to the conspiracy theories surrounding Area 51, and the lack of evidence to support these conspiracies. The conspiracy theories are centered on the belief that there is extraterrestrial life within Area 51. People, who live around the area or were traveling have claim they saw unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in the airspace above Area 51, especially during the 1950s and 1960s. The theory that UFOs and extraterrestrial life are located within Area 51 has been strengthen, due to the testimony from a former private contractor who had worked at the military facility in Area 51. The worker, Robert Lazar claimed that he worked on alien technology in Area 51, and has alleged that the government has had interactions…

According to Neil deGrasse Tyson author of “The Search for Life in the Universe,” all known cultures across all of the time have attempted to answer the question “are we alone?” According to Tyson, although Earth is the only known life in the universe there are many arguments that have been made that suggest that we are not alone (1) .…

A National Geographic survey states that 77% of the population believe that aliens exist and could have visited the Earth. Over “80 million Americans, or 36% of the population, believe UFOs are real” (Live Science Staff). 68 years ago the nation was captivated by supposed reports that a UFO crashed on a ranch in Roswell, New Mexico. This subject has always been debated between the military and the public for years. In 1997 “the military released a 231 page report [hoping that all the rumors would stop]” (Peyser 1). Yet, the public still doubt the truth of the military report about the Roswell incident because there were several different stories that happened. I believe that a UFO could have landed, but that will never know the truth given…

Geospatial Intelligence is using materials like drones, and aircrafts to analyze geographical locations. This can be anything like buildings, compounds, cities, or anything that can be visible from a vantage point. GEOINT was able to scope out a lot of Pakistan and Afghanistan, and used obvious information to pick a spot and investigate: “NGA was integral in helping the Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community pinpoint the Abbottabad compound in Pakistan, where bin Laden was residing”(NGA). According to the NGA (National Geospatial Agency), US officials were capable of using aircraft drones to gain intelligence about the compound Osama Bin Laden was hiding in: “Providing to the CIA and other policymakers assessments of the number of people who lived inside the compound, their heights and genders”(Ambinder). The NGA was able to capture evidence through GEOINT, giving US Officials ample evidence to invade the compound. They were able to find multiple people walking through and out of the compound. The NGA was able to identify a man who was became known as “The Pacer”. This agency was able to collect necessary intel on the way the building was set up by building a model, the NAVY Seals would use to train. The model was able to prepare the Seals for every possible predicament that they could be put in. This proved to be effective due to how short the actual invasion…

September 11, 2001 was the deadliest day for New York. Thousands died because of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. Two planes crashed into the twin towers while a third crashed into the pentagon and a fourth into a field in Pennsylvania. Something this big could not have been decided that morning, it needed to be planned. All the people involved need to know what they were going to do. This meant they had to have some form of communication along the way, whether it was through calls or texts. Imagine if all of this could have been prevented. All those lives that were lost could have been saved. If only the NSA would have known. Even though it violates the privacy act of the constitution, it is better to be safe than sorry, potential terrorist attacks could be stopped, and it will not matter if you are not doing anything wrong.…
