Pros And Cons Of Apps Essay
We live in a world where the use or possession of a phone is almost necessary. Starting from the moment that we wake up, it is almost a habit to grab our phones and spend time checking for status updates. Although most of us depend on the use of the everyday apps on our phones, it seems we have become too dependent on them. Yes, they can be helpful, but not all of them are. Apps can be considered a waste of time, especially when they keep you from doing the work that you should prioritize above instagram or snapchat.
Apps can be addicting. Social media like Twitter or Facebook, can have a news feed that goes on forever. It is a never ending process of scrolling and liking posts that are usually not very relative. In doing so, you're taking the time to do such a thing. Some people spend hours just sitting and staring at their phones. The little screens entrance them and keep them entertained for

One of them would be how convenient it is to have certain apps at our disposal at all times. Apps like the clock, calendar, notes, and calculator are all useful applications that most people use everyday. They are very helpful at times when an alarm is needed or when you need to calculate some math. Their uses range from basic to more complex. Even though most apps are a waste of time, we still have the ones that can be a huge help to us.
The problem with apps, would have to be how much of a waste of time they are. They do more harm than good by distracting people from doing things that they should prioritize. Apps can be helpful, yes, but the amount of time they consume isn't worth it. They are a waste of time, especially when you could be doing something more productive. Most people would argue that apps are beneficial, but the way it should be seen is how they waste our time. That alone should be enough to convince someone believe that they are not as advantageous as they

There is no doubt that in the era of globalization, smartphones have become one of the most popular technology devices of our lives and have changed the way we communicate. However, after watching a YouTube video called “I Forgot My Phone”, Nick Bilton, an editor for the New York Times, states that “life is just better led when it is lived rather than viewed [on smartphones].” I agree with Bilton that when we put away our phones and try to live in the present for a while, we will feel more connected to the world. Moreover, spending more time on phones will not improve our relationships with others, but make people socially isolated.…

The two articles, “Why Being a Thinker means Pocketing your Smartphone” by Todd Leopold and “Have Smartphones killed boredom (and is that good?)” by Doug Gross, bring up good points about how smartphones affect our lives. Today, smartphones are mainly used to help eliminate boredom in our lives, but they also can distract us from what's going on around us. When they aren't being used to distract us, they can become a useful tool to help us in our daily lives; such as, checking/writing emails, calling, texting, checking the news, and so much more. These applications can easily distract us as well.…

But I know I’m not the only one who has seen someone walk into a wall, or walk in traffic texting without looking. Whatever it is, we need to start looking up from our phones once in a while. We need to learn to be a part of what’s happening right in front of you, and stop being a part of the social media world. When you are living in the social media world you are missing out on all the great memories you could be making with your friends, and family. Don’t get me wrong, I completely agree with the basic uses for a cell phone, example; calling, texting, email. But some of these apps are just totally useless. I truly believe if we continue down the path we are headed then we are going to have some serious problems with communication later on in…

In a world with constant, rapidly evolving technology, it’s often hard to decide whether a new invention will ultimately serve to help or hinder the human experience. Case in point, the ever popular app “Snapchat”. At first glance, Snapchat seems to be a fairly simple, innocuous photo-sharing platform; the user can send picture which will be deleted upon opening. Not only simple but revolutionary. When, in the past, could someone send a snapshot of exactly what they are doing to someone on the other side of the world, with such ease?…

Smartphone applications can be applied to almost anything, including topics such as health, education, careers, social media, and communication. Almost every day, my teachers encourage me to use my smartphone to play games to familiarize myself with information and use the different apps to study for upcoming exams. Both my robotics team and AP Physics class use different smartphone applications as a form of communication to help schedule group meetings, teach others different concepts they may not understand, and keep people up to date on different matters. Smartphones are an important aspect of the American culture, and an item that represents what people use every day to make their lives simpler. Along with showing the locals my technology, I would enjoy learning about what technology they use daily.…

The constant distraction of my phone made a one hour assignment take two. When it comes to doing activities I do not enjoy doing, I usually will pull out my phone for entertainment. Eventually, it came to be something I depended on when I did not feel like doing work. Millennials find it difficult to focus for long periods of time without using their phones simultaneously, seeking the immediate gratification of a nine second snapchat video, one-hundred-and-forty-character tweet, and an easily accessible picture on Instagram. These features that technology provides minimizes the teenage attention span while offering short term…

An example of something that is very useful and convenient, but at the same time could be very problematic would be the computer. Uses for computers have reached new heights. Aside from using them for word processing, computers serve as a source of entertainment with games and the Internet, are a means of communication, and we are able to shop in our underwear now if that's what is preferred. The Internet alone can have you sitting in the same place for hours at a time because of all its possibilities. However, along with all of its advantages come a computer's weaknesses. Putting a spotlight on the Internet, what poses a concern to me would be the safety of it all. Nowadays, we can not be certain that what we perceive to be private information still remains to be so.…

According to a study of two hundred students at Sanford University revealed that 34 percent rated themselves as addicted to their phones, while 32 percent worried they someday would be addicted. As a matter of fact, a vast majority of people suffer from the same problems. It is not uncommon that when they get ready for the day, their cell phones go with them everywhere. Despite the convenience and efficiency cell phones bring them, they fail to take into account the fact that too much addition to phones contributes directly to be unable to concentrate well on daily affairs. For instance, on account of depending on constant contact and instant information, when even having classes, a great many students cannot help checking the message or email on phones surreptitiously. Furthermore, when working, driving, just hanging out with friends or doing whatever, to be honest, we are bound to be extremely attached to our phones with enjoying the pleasurable feelings from the act of texting or receiving messages. When it comes to my relationship with cell phone, exaggeratingly speaking, it seems that if I am not called, texted, or commented on my blog, my soul will be lost; hence, it prevents me from focusing on doing my assignments or having a sound sleep. Apparently, excessively obsessed with cell phone distract us from noticing what important happen around us and getting things well done.…
