Following directions is an important skill to learn in life. Not only does it prepare you for the unpredictable, but you have a better sense of the task at hand.If you stray away from the instructions given, you may suffer the consequences of an accident or injury. Without directions to follow you want no what to do. Here are some reasons why following directions is so important. Failing to have the ability to instinctively follow directions could cost you your life or someone else’s. Therefore, training your employees to follow directions can provide a focal objective in a dangerous situation when thinking clearly is difficult to do. Sometimes directions can cause confusion if they are complex. When training your employees on processes, make sure everyone understands before moving on. You don’t want to put your workers in dangerous positions, so plan and prepare accordingly. Learning how to follow directions can promote education in the workplace as well as build performance skills efficiently. Thoroughly understanding how a process works through instructions allows for satisfaction from customers. I think it is important to follow directions because for instance you could be walking across the street (say there’s no speed limit, red lights/stop signs or anything like that) you would obviously get hit by a car and most likely end up in the hospital or be dead on the spot. If a little kid didn’t pay attention during school when we did the “lockdown” drills, he would probably be harmed, kidnapped or killed.
