Professionalism in social work is an important factor in the social work field. Social work professionalism means applying the code of ethics to each individual to make sure he or she receives the necessities the individual needs; which is to understand the individual's socioeconomic background and cultural awareness.
Supervision is the key factor in learning how to be professional in the social work field. According to Comartin (2011), supervision is an essential part of being a professional social worker. Being able to learn how to control one’s personal beliefs will lead one to learn their own discovery, growth and self-awareness (p.3).
