Although it started as a small project, with the help of several expansions and renovations, it is now one of the most renowned places that Ohio has to offer, particularly in the world of sports. Now, with the help of the most recent project, the “Future 50,” the Hall of Fame is 118,00 square feet, compared to the 19,000 square feet it began with 54 years ago. The museum completed a 27 million dollar renovation in 2013, and inside, includes several galleries, archives and an adventure room. The 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers is known as one of the best football teams in NFL history. This was a very scary team with a very crucial defense and a very elite offense. This insanely talented team was run by Chuck Noll. Chuck Noll won 4 Super bowls from 1969-1991. Noll began his head coaching career with Terry Bradshaw and Joe Greene on his football team. On defense there was the Steel Curtain, which consisted of Mean Joe Greene, Dwight White, Ernie Holmes, and L.C Greenwood. Only Joe Greene and L.C Greenwood were pro bowlers. Also, on defense was Jack Lambert at middle linebacker alongside of Jack Ham. Both linebackers were pro bowlers. And in the secondary there was Mel Blount. Also, a pro bowler.…

It's early October on the grounds of the University of Kansas where barren trees; swaths of dormant, beige grass; and the pale, limestone buildings have created a monochromatic tableau that looks like a picture in an old, yellowed newspaper. Amongst the landscape of what could look like cathedrals lies a building that brings many students to their feet in anticipation of what will happen. Indeed, arriving for a game at Allen Fieldhouse can feel like preparing to rummage through the dusty archives of college basketball. But after a 2005 renovation, there's nothing musty about the newly developed structure. And with one of the best teams in the NCAA holding court inside, Allen Fieldhouse is all about the traditions that…

When reading Fantasy Football for Dummies, by a Dummy, I got bored. I knew what he was talking about because I watch football and I know what Fantasy Football is. On August 11, 1919, Curly Lambeau and George Calhoun gathered young athletes from around the area, in a close editorial room of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, to discuss the creation of a professional football team. Several weeks before, in a casual street-corner conversation, they had discussed the idea, but hadn’t given it much thought. From that room, one of the proudest and most storied NFL franchise.…

In Chapter 5, the work of art that I found most compelling was the cave painting in Lascaux, Dordogne, France, called Hall of Bulls (Page 112). This cave painting was created somewhere between c. 15,000-10,000 BCE. and may have been part of an ancient ritual. I find the detail on this cave painting to be utterly astonishing. I can’t even draw a proper stick figure in Paint and yet these cavemen were painting detailed pictures of running animals. It is amazing to see such a historical piece of art still living to this day on the same wall that the people painted it on. I particularly like the way that the wall’s rough exterior gives life to animals, it is as if they are running in smoke or dust. This is truly an amazing piece of art and hopefully,…

The Hall of Fame of Great Americans is a museum located at Bronx Community College that focuses on Americans that made history, change American society and culture. Many students pass through this landmark without knowing the reason why is it there including me. I have always wondered why is it that this museum is located at this campus and not in another place where it could be noticeable like in the museum of Natural History, Grand Central, Central Park, or in the Metropolitan Museum or any other popular places in New York City. I analyzed a few thoughts which I would like to share; one more thing I would like to share is why I think they use the architect’s design that the hall of fame has.…
