Pro Choice Vs Pro Life Essay
11.3 Pro-Life and Pro- Choice This article discusses the pro-life and pro-choice debate and how many do not understand what it means to say you are pro-life instead of pro-choice. This article discussed and criticized a poll that Gallup, a reputable organization ran asking the question, “Are you pro-life or pro-choice,”. According to the author, this question is worded poorly and leads to inaccurate results. This article does not help further the debate, and only makes people more misguided on the very different meanings of the two words. The author also states that because of how Gallup is a credible organization, this makes the question even more deceptive on the abortion issue since many people are likely to trust this organization. I do think that the fact that the author of this article is a Democrat matters but not in a negative way per say. I think it is important for there to have opposing viewpoints so they can attempt to understand where the other person’s beliefs are coming from. I think the point that the author attempts to convey is that the terms pro-life and pro-choice or subjective depending on how the person interprets those two words. These two words can have different meanings to different people. Many people believe that pro-life solely means that they reject a woman’s right to choose no matter what the circumstances are. According to the research stated in the article, most people do not have this belief yet still call themselves pro-life. Most Americans believe that there are some circumstances where a woman’s right to abortion should be allowed those ranging from putting the mom’s life in danger, to rape or incest, to less severe issues. On the other hand, being pro-choice does not necessarily mean that you support abortion on all terms (although it can). Describing yourself as pro-choice simply means that you believe that women have the right to a safe abortion, whether that is for medical

In this world there are at least two sides to every story. The opposite sides are not necessarily good or bad, but different from each other. One of these "stories" is the story of abortion. Abortion is defined as the destruction or termination of a fetus while still in the mother's womb. However, abortion is so much more then just the definition. There are consequences. There are two sides: pro-life and pro-choice. There is controversy over which is the correct way to go. Personally knowing people who have chosen opposite sides on this one particular topic makes it one that truly means a lot to me as a writer.…

Abortion is one of the most divisive moral issues of America today. The Roe vs. Wade court case in 1973 made the debate national. This case was filed by a pregnant woman, Norma McCorvey, against Henry Wade, the district attorney of Texas. In Texas, abortion was illegal. This court case overturned the previous law on abortion and made it a right to privacy between a woman and her doctor up until the third trimester in order to coincide with the 14th Amendment and also balance with why the state wanted it to be illegal in the first place; to protect prenatal life and women’s health. Now a day, 2% of women between the ages 15-44 will have an abortion. Out of all the teens that partake in sexual intercourse, 19% of them will become pregnant with 78% of those pregnancies unplanned and about 4 out of 10 unplanned pregnancies result in abortion.…

Abortion is a topic that many feel is controversial. It can not be easily agreed upon for many reasons. The fight for pro-life has to do with religion and the morality of taking a life. On the other hand, pro-choice involves women’s rights as well as a woman’s well being. These two ideas make abortion a subject that is…

Imagine a young child at the playground, slipping down a slide, swinging on the monkey bars, and laughing with glee. When a mother decides to get an abortion, that entire image goes away with a blink of an eye. What that mother might not know is her child might be the next person to cure cancer or be the greatest movie star of all time. The public is divided on this issue and they do not know if one should be pro-life or pro-choice. People that believe in pro-choice think the decision should be up to the mother. It is the mother’s body and she should have the right to decide what happens to it. However, every life matters and the child should not be in the cross fire of the mother’s decision. Abortion violates the child’s right to live and…

The pro-life view is characterized by “all men are created equal.” My personal view is that equal rights should be available to everyone regardless of sex, race, preference, age, etc. Throughout history there have been many conflicts of significance to women and blacks concerning the fight for equal rights; pro-life supporters say “why not babies too?” They also believe “there are no sub-humans.” Personally, I agree that there are no sub-humans. There are humans and not humans. I do not believe fetuses in a vegetative state, similar to a piece of tissue, are not humans because they are not conscious. Just because something has the potential of becoming a human in the future does not make it a human now (Planned Parenthood).…

Abortion, a medical practice that results in termination of a human pregnancy, dates back to ancient Egypt and is recorded in the Ebers Papyrus, a medical text from the time of 1550 BCE (“When Did Abortion…”, par. 2). Abortion is a hot topic that is currently sweeping the US and has been for many years now. There are two stances citizens tend to take on the issue of abortion: pro-choice and pro-life. Many people do not advocate strongly for either; they lie somewhere in the middle gray area. Both people who are pro-choice and pro-life have coherent grounds for believing in such. It is logical to base such reasoning on evidence to prove their claims. The people who are pro-choice have several reasons to support their stance, although those who…

Abortion, a hot topic of debate for over two hundred years. So far it has created two major movements one of them being “Pro Choice” and the other “Pro Life”. “Pro Choice” fights for the right of women to have a choice between giving birth or aborting the baby in the earlier stages of its development. “Pro Life” on the other hand has a totally different view of the issue, they completely oppose the right for abortion implying that it is an unlawful murder of a human life.…

In the hundred year argument of pro life vs pro choice there is one thing no one has even argued for. Everyone is trying to claw their way up to the top of the food chain. making the same arguments over and over again trying to seem as smart as possible without getting anything done. This is the stupidity of the American intellectual society. Before we even think about if it's right or wrong to force to be mothers to take a child into this cruel world or to save the child's individual genetic link to the rest of the human race. We need to first look at what we will do with the unwanted babies.…

There are many differences between a “pro- choice” position on abortion and a “pro- life” position. People who are “pro- choice”, then they believe that it is the woman’s decision if she wants to have a child and carry it for nine months. If someone is “pro- life”, then they are against anyone getting an abortion. They believe that the fetus has the same rights as a human being. The argument the “pro- life” people strongly believe is that every undeveloped human is sacred and must be protected by the government. The “pro- choice” people argue that when a humans personhood cannot be proven in pregnancies, then the government does not have the right to prevent a woman her right to decide whether or not she wants to continue with the pregnancy.…
