Pollution
Green planet: reality or fiction One of the greatest problems that the world is facing today is that of environmental pollution, increasing with every passing year and causing grave and irreparable damage to the earth. Environmental pollution consists of five basic types of pollution, air, water, soil, noise and light. Air pollution is the most harmful form of pollution in our environment. Air pollution is cause by the injurious smoke emitted by cars, buses, trucks, trains, and factories, namely sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. Even smoke from burning leaves and cigarettes are harmful to the environment causing a lot of damage to man and the atmosphere. Evidence of increasing air pollution is seen in lung cancer, asthma, allergies, and various breathing problems along with severe and irreparable damage to flora and fauna. Even the most natural phenomenon of migratory birds has been hampered (утруднять), with severe air pollution preventing them from reaching their seasonal metropolitan destinations of centuries.
Water pollution caused industrial waste products released into lakes, rivers, and other water bodies, has made marine life no longer hospitable. Humans pollute water with large scale disposal of garbage(измельчитель (остатков пищи), flowers, ashes and other household waste. Acid rain further adds to water pollution in the water. Water pollution can also indirectly occur as an offshoot(отвод, тут: результат) of soil pollution – through surface runoff(поверхн відтоки) and leaching(вимивання) to groundwater. Noise pollution include aircraft noise, noise of cars, buses, and trucks, vehicle horns, loudspeakers, and industry noise, as well as high-intensity sonar effects which are extremely harmful for the environment. Soil pollution, which can also be called soil contamination, is a result of acid rain, polluted water, fertilizers etc., which leads to bad crops. Soil contamination occurs when chemicals are released by spill or

There are three pollutions such as, air pollution, water pollution, and land pollution. Air pollution became the most famous issue in the world right now. “Air pollution is the accumulation of hazardous substance into the atmosphere that danger human life and other living matter”(2013). The simple example from human activity that accidentally we made or not of air pollution are when we drive car and the car will release the emission. One more is tobacco smoke, believe it or not smokers have a big role in air pollution. It contains the most dangerous element of air pollution for health. Growing numbers of factories are adding to the problems of environmental pollution. They emit huge amount of wastes which make our water sources dirty. They produce tones of poisonous gases day in and day out. They are major cause of water pollution. This has posed great challenge to the aquatic life. The water that we drink has become highly * polluted even after its treatment. Vehicular pollution is another major cause of environment pollution. Numbers of vehicles are rising every day. Delhi has the maximum number of vehicles in the world. The poisonous gases coming out of these vehicles are making the environment more polluted. Besides the blowing of horns, rumbling of factories and noises from the loudspeakers and vehicular movements are causing noise pollution as well. When we are reading newspapers, watching news channel on television, or even at school or college, we can at least see or hear something related to pollution. This shows how serious the rate of pollution, regardless of forms is in today’s world. Pollution takes place when pollutants or wastes contaminate our natural surroundings in which it causes harmful effects that will negatively affect not only ours but also animals lives. Pollutants are the major components of these contaminations and are generally waste materials of different forms (Conserve Energy Future, 2013). Pollution damages or even destroys our ecosystem and the balance in the environment. To illustrate that, pollutants such as sewage and chemical fertilizers that contain a high level of nitrogen as well as phosphorus have promoted the growth of microscopic and macroscopic plants excessively. When these plants grow in excess, die, and decay, they absorb oxygen in the water and eventually reduce the oxygen level in the water. As a result, the marine life such as fishes can hardly survive through the lacking of oxygen and the marine ecosystem is damaged (Pelley, 1998). Not only that, as the world is getting modernized and everything is globalized, pollution is said to have reached a peak level, causing the rise of human illnesses and global warming.…

Generally any substance that people introduce into the atmosphere that has damaging effects on living things and the environment is considered air pollution. Air pollution is a major environmental risk to health. By reducing air pollution levels, we can help countries reduce the global problem of disease from breathing infections, heart disease, and lung cancer. The lower the levels of air pollution in a city, the better breathing (both long- and short-term), and circulatory health of the population will be. Indoor air pollution is estimated to cause approximately 2 million premature deaths mostly in developing countries. Almost half of these deaths are due to pneumonia in children under 5 years of age. Urban outdoor air pollution is estimated to cause 1.3 million deaths worldwide per year. Those living in middle-income countries excessively experience this burden. Exposure to air pollutants is largely beyond the control of individuals and requires action by public authorities at the national, regional and even international levels.…

Air pollution has affects the environment and the health of people in a negative manor. Sulfur oxides raises the incidence of respiratory diseases in people, and it also creates a form of rain that contains high levels of sulfuric or nitric acids that pollute drinking water, vegetation, destroy aquatic life and erode man-made structures. Air pollution may also possibly harm urban populations in ways too subtle or slow for us to recognize. The subtle effects of air pollution necessitates research in order to assess the possible long-term affects of constant exposure to low levels of pollution as well as determine how air pollutants interact with each…
