Throughout many centuries, architects have argued about whether a building should be created in a rational or in a sensory way. The architects who believed in rational beauty did buildings with an order. They used shapes to create their buildings. This building reflected the structures of Ancient Greece and Rome. On the other hand, architects who believed in sensory beauty designed visually attractive structures. These buildings reflected back to the Middle Ages. I believe that the Colorado State Capitol building is beautiful because of the way it shows the values of a rational architect. The architects who designed this building created a sense of beauty by making all its parts communicate and by its symmetry. Last of all this building expresses the values of power, democracy and sophistication.…

A new days ago, a reliable source discussed that the Elsinore castle was being haunted by the ghost of the recently departed king. Around 3:30 a.m. on June 23rd 1493, Prince Hamlet was wondering the halls and saw the ghostly apparition that the guards have been seeing. The source stated that the deceased king said that his brother killed him, and it wasn’t a snake who bit him. Claudius had poured venom in King Hamlet’s ear while he was sleeping in his garden. The venom clotted his blood and he died from that. He told Hamlet he needed to seek revenge for what his uncle had done because King Hamlet couldn’t get forgiveness for the sins and wrongdoings that he had done throughout his life.…

“ . . .Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” In the American Declaration of Independence it is established that all people are subjected to these, among other, inalienable rights. The pursuit of happiness became a focal point for many Americans during the Great Depression, a time when poverty covered this great nation. The Walls family is cursed with this poverty for much of their lives. The title of the memoir “The Glass Castle” is later shown to represent this pursuit. Through the repetition of negative circumstances, the author elaborates on the aspect of achieving happiness through tenacity. Juxtaposition between the negative, destructive decisions of the parents and the positive, beneficial decisions of the children show the potentials of the pursuit of happiness. This same juxtaposition between parent and child shows the overall success of the pursuit is not entirely dependent on monetary status. Through the repetition and juxtaposition, the author thoroughly explores the concept of the American Dream, and how it can be pursued and achieved by anyone.…

Honors Study Hall is a highly debated topic within Wild Rose High School. People talk about where it should be held, who should be in it, and even if we should have it in the first place.
