All eighteen year olds should do national service
Some people think that all 18 year-olds should perform of national or community service before they start college or a paying job, but some people is disagree with that.

Some suggest allowing women to serve national service, others have proposed increasing education for soldiers. Still others suggest returning to the military plan. In the face of the strong need for more personnel, however, many have called for raising the age of military registration for young men from 18 years old to the age of 21.

Mandatory military service is a very old form of public service. In most countries practicing mandatory military service one joins the service age of eighteen years or after competing high school studies , before joining the universities. The period of the service varies from one country to another with some serving for only six months whereas in other countries one has to serve for two years . After the service one usually has the choice of either joining the national army or continuing with the civilian life.

I think we, as a society, should do a better job to encourage in young people a sense of emphaty to other human beings. Today's young people go through life feeling special and entitled without paying much attention to others who are really suffering. However, I think young people need to understand and to be inform about that, not punished of community service before college.

In conclusions i would like to say, that if all 18 year-olds should perform of national or community service, that, it’s should make all young people to be more honorable respectful, disciplined, hard working and also prepares individuals in life early

As of today, the military has a volunteer service only as its profile. As stated in a Farlex dictionary a military volunteer is “a person who freely enlists for service”. Any american citizen over 18 can volunteer for any branch regardless of gender, ethic, or religion. Other than soldiers, doctors, lawyers, scientists and a wide range of other careers are recruited and used in the military. The volunteer system supports the Declaration of Independence's phrase of guaranteeing citizens the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” by giving Americans the freedom of choice to chose to serve the country, or live about freely. The majority of America doesn't like the idea of having a draft introduced again, since it doesn’t exactly fit the phrase of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, in all aspects of citizens trying to achieve the “American Dream”. Though the majority of citizens is…

When the Civil War broke out and men were needed to serve in the war, the government used conscription, the mandatory induction of men into the military.1 Though some people use this word just like the word draft, the two concepts are different. Draft is the process to determine who will be chosen to serve; it’s like a lottery. Currently, men ages 18-25 have to register with the Select Service with the possibility of serving in the military,2 but conscription itself was abolished in 1973.3…

Until today mandatory military has been a very well known controversy for centuries. Mandatory military, otherwise known as conscription, or drafting, is the compulsory enlistment of of people in a national service, most often a military service. The importance of mandatory military dates back to the days of WWI, WWII, Vietnam war, and much more. It was necessary for 18 to 26 year old men to register for the draft, if they failed to do so, they could owe a fine or be limited to apply for certain jobs and financial aid. Some exceptions that were made was if a man had a family or went to college. The rest of the men who didn’t make the cut were the ones who were most likely to be sent to war. Even though, mandatory military service assures national security, military service should not be mandatory for all residents of the U.S. because drafted soldiers would not have enough skills and knowledge to fight alongside volunteered soldiers and it takes away precious time from the youth.…

Should the United States require all adults to perform one year of community service by the age of 30? I personally think this is a topic that is not at all, relevant. I believe if someone wants to lend a helping hand, then they should lend a helping hand. If you don't prefer to do this kind of community service, the government shouldn't force you to do so. There would be a lot of change in how community service is done today if the government required at least one year to be served by the age of 30.…

Mandatory military service can be further recognized as conscription and conscription is defined as a compulsory enlistment for state service, typically in the armed forces. Conscription was practiced since the beginning of our country and even during the famous World Wars, the war against Vietnam and many more. We soon after transitioned into a volunteer based military. “The military services in the United States have been organized on a volunteer basis since 1973, when President Richard Nixon abolished the draft.” (2) According to the Constitution of the United States of America, we as citizens are allowed to make our own decision even though we will most likely have restrictions. As a citizen we should not be forced to join the military;…

If 17+ year olds want to go to way, They can, And they will have a complete education, so they are ready for life when they get back years later. “You must be a US citizen or resident alien, You must be at least 17 years old to join the military.” This quote proves that if someone decides to go to war when they are 17 they won't go to college until they get back they will go to college it will be fairly difficult to get a job. If they are not Physically or mentally injured in the military. The opposing view is flawed because the teens brains are scientifically proven to not be completely developed to make these types of big decisions, Also the teens won't go to college because they will be off fighting war. So, Who would allow their child to ignorantly join the military and perhaps even die there? No one.…

Moreover, I wish that all societies accept their pros and cons and try to benefit from everything they have, no matter how difficult and bad things may turn out to be. Age should never control one's activities, especially if this one is really gifted and special among the society. In addition, respect should not only be shown for young people, but for all people as well.…
