Phascogale and Their Amazing Unusual Features

One of the most unique marsupials is the Phascogale, also known as the wambenger. Phascogales are a carnivorous mouse-like animal with bushy tails. Most Phascogales are around a foot long, and half of that length is their tail. These creatures live in tree hollows in Australia. Since they are nocturnal, they rest during the day inside a tree and hunt at night. There are two types of Phascogales, the Brush-tailed Phascogale, which are generally larger, and the Red-tailed Phascogale, which are typically rarer.
