Persuasive Speech Against Animal Cruelty
How many of you have been to Marine Land? It might seem all very fun, but behind the scenes, what goes on is so cruel. Which is why I ask if there should be a law against animal cruelty. As a matter of fact, I'm a dog owner myself, given that I find it very entertaining to watch shows about animals. Lately,a show I have been watching is called "Pitbulls and Parolees". Every day the workers save animals who are being confined to tiny cages so we can kill and eat them. They are burned, blinded poisoned and cut up in the name of science. Animals who are being strangled so people can parade around, in their coats. It's so enraging to see how people treat animals so poorly. The animal cruelty is inhumane.

Animal cruelty is the crime inflicting physical pain, suffering or death upon an animal, according to law-definition. Neglect toward your pet is horrible. We have pets for companionship and to protect us,just like my dog does. Not just our pets, but our communities, wild animals are being harmed too.

Dog fighting is a highly entertaining sport to people, but to the dogs, it's not. Not to mention dogs involved in dog fighting often die of blood loss, shock, dehydration, exhaustion or infection. If dog fighting is illegal but still considered a sport why gamble on a dog? why not gamble at who's better at 2K? It likes 2 people in a fist fight and you are cheering for who you think is stronger. I remember how once the circus came to town and I asked my mom if we could buy tickets. She proceeded to explain how she doesn't promote circuses since they abuse their animals. Animals aren't actors. They weren't bred to do confusing tricks under the threat of physical punishment. How would you feel if you were carted cramped and caged, moved from country to

Many wild animals across the world are removed from their natural habitats and forced into captivity. Many are subject to abuse all for entertainment and profit. Unfortunately, many people who say they “love animals” may actually be contributing to the suffering of these animals because they are unaware of the things going on behind the scenes. Whether it’s simply seeing animals at the zoo, watching the whale shows at SeaWorld, riding elephants, or swimming with dolphins; people see these as fun ways to interact with wild animals. In reality, these animals greatly suffer in captivity and thus should not be used for entertainment.…

I believe that animals are very similar to we humans, they feel and have emotions, thus they shouldn’t be mistreated or abused, rather be treated with love and respect. It was on this belief that the ASPCA was founded in 1866. The first anti-cruelty law was passed after their founding. “…..I have developed a deep respect for animals. I consider them fellow living creatures with certain rights that should not be violated any more than those of humans.” (Stewart)…

Animal cruelty is a very severe issue. It happens all over the world, it can happen to any kind of animal, A farm animal, a pet, or even a wildlife animal. People tend to think that animals can be treated in a bad way because they aren’t “humans.” An animal is supposed to be treated as anyone would be treated in a good way and respectfully, they do have feelings just like we all do. Although animals aren’t human beings we all have the right to be treated equally. Animal abusers should be punished in a very serious manner; there should be consequences for mistreating an animal.…

The ASPCA believes that the successful prosecution of animal cruelty offenders should include fines, jail sentences, and counseling to prevent additional acts of cruelty ( Guiding Principles, 2016). They believe that the people who commit criminal acts toward animals should get a punishment that will match the offense. The assumption that they are making is that there is a correlation between animals and human violence. The are also assuming that if someone is abusive to animals, then they are abusive to humans as well. This is not a fair assumption. There are certain people who have criminal pasts and they find a new start in life by taking care of pit bulls or horses. Animals can help them become better humans. As well as helping them learn love and…

Yes we need to test our drugs and surgical stuff on something so that humans do not have to suffer but the way that they are killed is inhumane and wrong. Pigs have done nothing to deserve to die and suffer for our own selfish needs. I believe it is inhumane to kill them and use them the way that we do and we should find another way to test on them. Everyday animals are being taken advantage of and being brutally abused. They are beaten, kept in cages, and enslaved just for a person’s own amusement (www.peta.org). Humans like to have freedom but yet they have no problem locking animals away because they don’t feel like dealing with them. The law sees passive and active abuse as illegal but they don’t have strict consequences that follow. Passive abuse is when the crime is less intentional and active is doing it intentionally to cause pain upon an animal (www.pet-abuse.com). Why should animals have to endure this cruel torture? What did they do to deserve this? I believe animals should be more protected under the law and not just thrown around like garbage.…
