Persuasive for College Admission

Influenced by an Idol “Winners never quit and quitters never win.” Exactly these words of the legendary Vince Lombardi are printed on the wall of my bedroom in big bold letters. I wake up every single day and think of Coach Lombardi as an idol. These pure words of wisdom motivated me to go to school and try my best at everything including extracurricular activities and debate teams. They motivated me to not only set high goals and targets, but to chase and achieve them as well. I learnt that I should aim for the moon and land amongst the stars. Sir, I would like to be admitted into the University Of Texas at Austin, I will prove to be a competitive candidate as I am a versatile, optimistic and innovative student. I, up to the age of 13 lived in the country of Saudi Arabia. My father went there on a transfer in the 1980’s. My parents gave birth to me in the port city of Jeddah and I attended a British International School during my pre-teen years. I was admitted into the KS3 program. Lack of communication with fellow Saudi Arabians caused me a lot of distress. However, as a result I started learning Arabic, the national language of Saudi Arabia. Soon, I became fluent in the language and could speak like an Arab. I loved the practice of learning new languages, so I started learning Urdu, my parents’ language while I was studying ‘Intermediate Spanish’ and mastering the English Language in full depth. By the time I was 11, I could speak four languages fluently and could converse in Spanish. My family and I then decided to move back to the state of Texas in the year 2013. It was a humungous change. From the British curriculum to the American curriculum, from the metric system to the imperial system, from private schooling to public
