Persuasive Essay On How To Make A Windshield
A lot of times in the winter people have to leave their vehicles outside because they don’t have a garage or barn. And when it snows in winter the snow sticks to their windshield and it’s hard for them to get it off. I thought it would be a good idea to make a special windshield that melts the snow and ice off of your car. It would work kind of like heated seats, there would be a button on the main console that would turn it on, and it wouldn’t be instant it would take a minute to get up to full temperature.

At a time when relatively few women worked outside the home, Barton built a career helping others. She was never married, as she knew the restrictions of a married woman at the time, but had a relationship with John J. Elwell. During the end of the American Civil War, Barton worked at a hospital she made helping the people at the Andersonville prison camp where 13,000 people died.…

Online, physically, or verbally you can be a victim of being bullied. You don’t have to keep things as they are. The question is how to handle the situation (Do you attack the bully and become the bully yourself? Or do you ignore the bully and pretend all is well?) What you do is speak up and ask for help. I would know, because not only was I a victim, I was also a person who stood by and simply watched it happen.…

"It's not just a game," to many athletes this statement rings true. Sports fuel the drive and determination within people, and provide them an essential learning tool from which they can grow. Competitive is defined as, "of or relating to a situation in which people or groups are trying to win a contest or be more successful than other : relating to or involving competition ."(merriam-webster.com) This concept of competitiveness is the foundation of all sports. The competitive spirit and thirst to want to better oneself in order to be at the top is a fueling force that will propel our children far beyond their years on the court. Providing children with equal playing time in youth sports discourages the necessary need for healthy competition and takes away valuable life lessons that will prepare them for the future.…

The practice of assisted suicide in the field of medicine is one of the most controversial issues facing us as a society today. Euthanasia of a patient is a taboo that can get a doctor’s license to practice medicine revoked and the doctor can face incarceration for his/her actions which are classified as a homicide. This practice is not something I believe should be looked down upon or tabooed as many other believe. It is a matter of choice, something that should be allowed to any terminally ill patient who wishes it so long as they are mentally competent to make such a decision. There is also a precedent for assisted suicides in the Physician Aid in Dying, or PAD laws in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Montana where patients can be assisted in causing their own deaths. Others may say it devalues human life and that it is an unethical act, which is not true since it is more helping the people by taking the pain away from them during the end of their lives. I don’t believe that euthanasia is just giving the patient the choice of giving up, but rather the choice to be done with the pain and control one’s fate if that pain is too much for them to handle or to keep fighting if they wish to.…

Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important. The argument is that children need to be more focused on test scores in Math, Science, English and History. It is unfair to single out art classes, there should be a more even spread of budget cuts, not just the sole elimination of the arts. There are parents who are indifferent with the arts and they are unfazed by their removal from elementary public schools. What many of these parents do not recognize is that there are actually benefits of the arts that help with core subjects. Some benefits are strengthening problem solving skills, stimulating critical thinking and helping developmental growth. There is also a duel component that shows that there is a direct correlation between SAT test scores and art programs in schools, as well as higher participation and attendance. It has also been shown that the arts can help boost the economy.…

There are many unjust laws in today’s world, one of them being the legalization of same-sex marriage. Christians stand firm in my religion when it says, “Marriage is between a man and a woman.” The nation --- our pledge of allegiance that we say every day --- was founded “under God”, and God says that marriage is between ONLY a man and a woman. The constitution was written “in the name of God”, where the law of legalization of same-sex marriage rests.…

On a cool morning walking into school, I see many kids panicking and stressed because their work isn’t finished or they didn’t have enough time. I also hear how many kids do not get enough exercise in their day because of their schoolwork or they are so tired that they go home and relax. As I was walking into school I heard a conversation between to boys as one said, “Can you believe all the work we had last night, it’s really stressing me out and I don’t even get time to go outside and shoot hoops.” As the other boy agreed he said, “ I know I have no time to go for a run or have a fun time with friends outside.” When I heard this conversation I thought what a great idea to have a field day for one day out of the…

“I do not want to wear that hideous, scratchy, and uncomfortable uniform another day,” these are the words that emanated from the Yudkowsky home every morning at seven o’clock. Mrs. Kelly Yudkowsky recalls the daily conversation she had with her children regarding the importance and benefits of having school uniforms. However, Mrs. Yudkowsky does not stand alone in her opinion, over the past decade the adoption of school dress codes and uniforms in American public schools has expanded tremendously. According to the U.S. Department of Education statistics, in 2010 nearly 1 in 5 public schools required a school uniform, up from just 1 in 8 a decade earlier. That is a huge growth in uniform requirements in American state schools (qtd. in Bennett). A school uniform is an outfit that is picked out by the school’s administration that every student who chooses to go to that school must wear. Although there are some critics who argue that a school uniform violates a students’ right to freedom of expression and can cause a financial burden on poor families, school uniforms should be mandatory for everyone in primary and secondary school, because it increases students’ self-esteem and school unity, it helps promote school safety, and it helps students resist the peer pressure to buy trendy clothing.…

“Equality by design”, that’s what I like to say. Schools have been doing wrong things like banning individuality through the use of school uniforms. Why shouldn’t students wear uniforms? Uniforms only make the students life more miserable. Uniforms limit a student’s individuality, it eliminates a crucial form of self-expression, and it indicates a lack of confidence in the student’s ability to make responsible choices. Like so many people, we want the best and happiest for the students. All schools should ban the usage of school uniforms.…
