Persuasive Essay On A Controversial President
Currently our President Donald Trump does not have the most favorable polls for a President within their first month. President Barrack Obama started his first week with a 67% approval rating, 13% disapproval rating and 4% had no opinion. (1) President Donald Trump started his first week with the nation divided at a 45% approval and 45% disapproval rating. (2) Believe it or not President Obama’s rating was the worst in our Nation’s history before President Trump took over. For the first time in history we have a President that does not care about public opinion. I know that he is briefed and needs to act like he cares, but I believe that President Trump does not care about what the average American thinks. This could be a good thing or something that has a detrimental effect on the United States for decades to come. Only time and history will be able to adequately answer this question. I will say that this election has been like no other that I have ever seen in my 48 years. There has never been such a controversial President in United States history. There are many people who do not know how President Trump could have been elected, but I honestly believe that most Americans wanted a change. They did not care what the change was, the American people just wanted something different, no matter how drastic. President Trump ran on a political agenda that many people are upset about, however they are the same beliefs he held during his campaign. He is currently trying to put into effect his policies, which he was elected upon, and the American people are furious. I find this confusing and difficult to

If there can be any objection to the administration, it can be the general disdain it has for reality. The President of the United States of America has employed the highest offense possible; he attempts to promote contradictory ideas at the same time and hold that they complement each other. Trump’s most important example should be his tone on the campaign trail. Trump’s campaign was run on two violently opposing ideas: that America is a perfect nation, that America is God’s nation, that America is the savior and protector of the world, America has the perfect culture that all nations should adopt, and our soldiers are the strongest, our products are the best, our land is the most beautiful, and that all nations should be subservient to American…

In American politics, public opinion is mostly a latent force that typically has no important bearing on national decision making unless citizens become unusually attentive to politics. Many citizens are uninformed, which leads to inconsistent opinions. In Tides of Consent, there are many factors that shift public opinion. Some changes are fast and responsive, such as spikes in presidential approval, and some changes are slow, and occur in increments that may be overlooked. Public opinion in American politics is meaningless individually, but aggregately, public opinion is meaningful.…

Firstly a great President must be viewed as person who has achieved success in the office they hold. That includes effective implementation of policies which are clearly expressed prior to election and that are in the interests of the people who elected them. This is the very foundation of Democracy within the United States and was defined by Abraham Lincoln as “government of the people, by the people, for the people”.…

Andrew Jackson was the 7th president of the United States. He was a very likable person and considered to be a great president all around. Jackson is currently on the $20 bill but there has been talk about removing him from the bill and replacing his picture with that of a famous woman or an African-American person. Although some may say there are many significant reasons to remove Jackson from the bill I disagree with those reasons. I believe there are equally good reasons to keep Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill such as the fact that he is considered a war hero, he was our 7th President of the United States and because he essentially was nicknamed “the people’s president”.…

During these day, President Trump is the hottest topic since he won the election because his campaigns cause many arguments day by day. He is the first president who took many changes in American economy and politics even though there are many people think otherwise. The most unbelievable order is on Jan. 25, when President Trump signed an executive order to construct a wall along the United States' southern border is inflaming relations between the United States and Mexico, strongly affects to American politics and economy, and damage to the environment; and so, in my opinion, his decision is just ignorant and wasted.…

Donald Trump won his presidency over Hilary Clinton, winning the electoral vote but losing the popular vote by around 2.9 million votes. Knowing that the majority of Americans did not want Trump as President, it would make sense for Trump to handle the office with care, and work to gain the trust of the Americans who did not want him as their President. In the short 48 days since Trump has been President, it is safe to say that he does not care about the opinions of those who did not vote for him and those that did vote for him. He signs executive orders and appoints nominees without consideration. He makes every move based on his priorities, and not the rest of America.…

Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important. The argument is that children need to be more focused on test scores in Math, Science, English and History. It is unfair to single out art classes, there should be a more even spread of budget cuts, not just the sole elimination of the arts. There are parents who are indifferent with the arts and they are unfazed by their removal from elementary public schools. What many of these parents do not recognize is that there are actually benefits of the arts that help with core subjects. Some benefits are strengthening problem solving skills, stimulating critical thinking and helping developmental growth. There is also a duel component that shows that there is a direct correlation between SAT test scores and art programs in schools, as well as higher participation and attendance. It has also been shown that the arts can help boost the economy.…
