Persuasive Essay: Minecraft Are you bored and lonely on a Friday night? Are you a creative designer who wants to create their own world? Are a student who thinks school is too hard and thinks Mrs. Saravia’s faces are the greatest thing ever? If you’re any of those or more, Minecraft is the game for you! Minecraft is created by Markus Persson, the founder of Mojang AB. The game involves players creating and destroying various types of blocks in a three-dimensional environment. The player takes on an avatar that can destroy or create blocks on multiplayer servers and single player worlds across multiple game modes. You can also form fantastic structures, creations, and artwork. Minecraft is game amazing game that everyone, including you, should play. Many people face the many emotions of life, whether it’s sad, happy, bored, or curiosity. With Minecraft, you can play the game to cure your emotions. For instance, if you’re curious, start an adventure on Minecraft. This game was built as an above, and below adventure world. Your time could be so preoccupied with mining, creating, harvesting that you forget the fact that you’re bored or sad. One of the main goals in Minecraft is hunting for diamonds, which is the rarest block to find. When you find a diamond block you get filled with all this excitement and sense of confidence because you kept pushing to find the diamonds. If you like more of the thrilling excitement you could also fight the nocturnal monsters. Monsters including Creepers, Skeletons, Zombies, Spiders, and even Witches are always out for your life, if you’re on a non-peaceful gamemode. Those monsters can always spawn out of any patch of darkness and you will always have the thrill of killing them with anything including your sword or even a hoe. With supported evidence, Minecraft has already been a largely popular game and is a logical choice if you

The United States should be involved in the affairs of other countries because what we do for other countries, we get back in return. In The Kite Runner, the Taliban take over Afghanistan and ruled most of it including its capital, Kabul. Since no one could stop the Taliban, many devastating things occurred. “I saw a dead body near the restaurant. There had been a hanging. A young man dangled from the end of the rope tied to a beam, his face puffy and blue, the clothes he’d worn on the last day of his life shredded, bloody. Hardly anyone seemed to notice him” (Hosseini 259). This quote puts a dreadful image in the reader’s mind of how everyone is so used to what the Taliban are doing, that hardly anyone notices it. It is a tool that holds much of the world’s information at our fingertips, yet many of us are captivated by non-sense such as cat videos, or what celebrities are up to. We must be wary of consuming content mindlessly, because doing so could spell our doom. If we collaborate with one another using such a revolutionary tool, further advancements can be made and so much more can be done. Jane believes that thought becomes reality, and so do I. At a time when relatively few women worked outside the home, Barton built a career helping others. “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send the homeless tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” Reference? America has long been the land of freedom and hope to the world, and the American military is what has kept her that way. People have forgotten how important and valuable the military is to the world that we live in. As part of the Budget Control Act of 2011, automatic sequestration calls for $1.2 trillion in lowered federal spending, with 50% coming from defense and 50% coming from non-defense budgets. If Congress cannot reach an agreement, these cuts will reduce the Department of Defense spending by about $55 billion dollars. On September 11, 2001, the United States faced a difficult time in which 3,000 lives were lost due to an attack upon the U.S. by terrorists who hijacked airplanes and crashed them into the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the United States Pennsylvania! That day, 9/11, has become a day in which we remember the lives that were lost and the families who were affected by such a tragedy. We called on our military once again, and they were there to protect our country. I am against automatic sequestration towards the military and military programs for many reasons.…

Online, physically, or verbally you can be a victim of being bullied. You don’t have to keep things as they are. The question is how to handle the situation (Do you attack the bully and become the bully yourself? Or do you ignore the bully and pretend all is well?) What you do is speak up and ask for help. I would know, because not only was I a victim, I was also a person who stood by and simply watched it happen.…

In times like today, people have mixed views on smoking and on the effects it has on the human body. Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important. The argument is that children need to be more focused on test scores in Math, Science, English and History. It is unfair to single out art classes, there should be a more even spread of budget cuts, not just the sole elimination of the arts. There are parents who are indifferent with the arts and they are unfazed by their removal from elementary public schools. What many of these parents do not recognize is that there are actually benefits of the arts that help with core subjects. Some benefits are strengthening problem solving skills, stimulating critical thinking and helping developmental growth. There is also a duel component that shows that there is a direct correlation between SAT test scores and art programs in schools, as well as higher participation and attendance. It has also been shown that the arts can help boost the economy.…
