Personal Statement: IT Engineering
Sustaining in a world driven with technology, it is impossible to neglect the essentiality of technology in each and every walk of life and the way we are reliant on it. Long-gone are the days, when I used my good old alarm clock to wake up in the morning. But now, the tech savvy in me, uses my iPhone not just as my quintessential alarm clock but various other utilities like calculator, calendar, camera, music, digital diary, GPS, compass and the list is endless! Several of the elementary needs like talking over a call or ordering food online–all are gimmicks of technology!
This era we live in has made us so hooked on to technology that we can’t imagine our existence without it. One “mother of all inventions” which has transformed our lives

I was able to amplify my insight about nuances of technology during the course of my senior year in Information Technology. My first ever project was a modest ‘Payroll Management System’ program, which might give the impression of being minuscule. But in those days, it was something which geared me up to identify the intricacies of how things work. From the minute details of a code to the presentation of data on the screen - all of this is credible to a humble line of code. My affinity towards technology advanced with giant strides and nurtured through my curricular topics like ‘Database Management System’, ‘Operating Systems’, ‘Object Oriented Programming System’ and ‘Web Technology’ and made me extremely inclined towards the domain of technology and the eagerness to learn more. I tried my hands on a new operating system “Linux” in my curriculum and this experience lent me the opportunity to plunge in and experiment working over a different OS other than Windows. In order to accomplish this prerequisite, TCS put me through a rigorous training schedule of 3 months to make me industry ready and acquaint me to the technical know-hows of how things would be at workplace. I was one amongst the total 300 students in my batch of ILP. I also had the opportunity of being the class representative during the training tenure which made me acquire the finer shades of teamwork, joint effort, solidarity and leadership proficiency. I was given training in Java, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, Testing automation tools like Selenium, HP QTP and HP LoadRunner, which made me apprehend the nitty-gritties of design plus the eminence of testing. As a scholarly project in the training program, I was selected as the team lead for my project team in which we had to test an entire website developed especially with bugs in it to make us understand the essence of testing. The pressure and the deadlines given to execute the tasks made me adhere to stringent timelines and develop the management skills along with deploying assimilated technical knowledge to the real
