This was my first job. My main aim was to get promoted to be a pharmacy technician at that time since I had a passion for it. I had sufficient knowledge about drugs and thus was sure that I would fare well. Working with the company only increased my quest to study pharmacy. Therefore, I enrolled in the New York College of Technology where I studied for the pharmacy technician license. Upon being certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board on March 2011, I offered volunteer services. This helped me to expand my experience in pharmacy- related fields. I volunteered in different pharmacies including the Duane Reade. Later, I was hired in CVS on May 2013 as a certified pharmacy technician. Securing this job motivated me towards the goal of becoming a pharmacist. Working as a pharmacy technician offered me the opportunity to learn from my colleagues, patients and doctors. I enjoyed the humanity side of the job and how to dispense as many scripts as possible in short period of time so that I can make the patient’s life easier and the process of picking up their drugs smooth and fun. It helped me to interact with different kinds of patients and to teach them on the usage and effects of medicine towards a better health under the supervision of the pharmacist.
