Personal Narrative: Why Are You Sleeping Late?
Henry was woken up by the ringing of his phone by a quarter past six. He worked until he was tired the previous day. The stress from the previous day’s work kept him in bed. He reluctantly picked the call, he didn’t check the phone to know who was calling him.
“Hello.” He said as he picked the call.
“Henry what are you still doing in bed. Wake up!” Christy replied him.
“How did you know I am still in bed?”
“I know for two reasons; you were late in picking my call and your voice sound as much. Why are you still in bed?”
"I worked myself beyond the limit yesterday. How was your night?"
"It was awesome. How was yours?"
"I slept at two. I am yet to recover my energy as I speak. I slept around two.”
“Why are you sleeping late?”

What are you agitated about? I hope you are not agitating about the recovery of your inheritance.”
“No, that’s not the reason for my agitation. I have clients that I want to deliver projects to before schedule, the projects should be delivered to them in few weeks. These are new clients that I don’t want to disappoint.” He explained to her calmly.
“Do they complained they want the projects delivered ahead of schedule?”
“No, they never asked I deliver the projects ahead of schedule. I just want to surprise them.”
“You don’t have to disturb yourself, you have all the time to deliver the project to them. Take your time to deliver excellent work to them.”
“Alright, I will slow down. I am six weeks ahead of plan.”
“Henry, you look calm than usual. What is going on?”
“There is nothing going on, this is my natural state.”
“You have never looked calm like this. I have known you for seven months, six of which we are dating. I can tell when you are being mischievous.”
“You get me right there. I promise you before we are done here today, you will know the reason for my calmness.”
“I know you are being mischievous. That’s my man.” She gave him a high five.

“Was it not a good reason?”
“I am sorry I have not taken you out for dinner in weeks. When you asked in the morning, I know you are not happy I am not taking you to dinner.”
“I thought you were not taking me out because the usual place has become stale. I found this place because I want to bring flavour to our experience”
“I am happy you let me know your mind. I promise I will be taking you out consistently from now. Let me call order our food and drinks.”
He picked the menu on the table and asked for her choice. She glanced through the menu and she showed him what she wants. He ordered what she chose. He whispered into the ear of that man. He nodded his head while he went to get their order.
“Are you planning anything behind my back?”
“Not at all. I am not planning something behind your back. I can be involved in coup d’état against you.”
“You better don’t organise coup d’état against me, I will to you being court-martialed.”
“My commander-in-chief, I can’t do that against you. Please pardon my errors, and temper justice with mercy.”
She burst into laughter. “I know you can’t do that, I am joking.”
They were served and they started to
